Unhappy

Ok, had a wonderful SECS device fitted for me yesterday Link here for those who don't know what it is thanks to PCB / Simon for setting up etc. and a great cuppa!

What I have found is that my car is peaking out at 1.03 bar of boost. Now correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't an 02 wrx be peaking at 1.20 bar?

I have a decat grp.n centre and rear, and the APS intercooler.

I am guessing that I either have a slight leak somewhere around the APS (the dump valve gasket got slightly bent when refitting, but I figured that it would be fine once the nuts were tightened) or else the ECU is using less boost due to the lower charge temp / pressure? Not that I can see why this would be happening.

I have no ecu fault codes present, I did a full reset and still only 1bar boost in 5th.

Knock correction peaks at around 9 degrees at WOT in 1st / 2nd, Lambda is .75 at WOT and 1ish at idle, and I can't see anything else that could be causing the problem?

FWIW, the car feels pretty much as quick as usual, except maybe in 4th and 5th (which I guess is where the lost .2 bar would be most prominent anyway.)

Anyone care to hazard a guess? Car is only run on Optimax BTW.

Ed

When my 01 had a decat centre and WR Sport back box it used to peak at 1 bar so I think it's pretty much as it should be mate.

Just checked my rolling road print out from when these were the only mods and yep a maximum of 1 bar.

Nathan..

Cool

Edcase

Glad to see you had good sense & followed the advice

Only 1 bar? Mine peaks @ 1.25

It is a PPP MY99 though

Depends on the gear you're in as well.

Happy button pressing

Puff, yeah should be getting my knocklink next week also. I figured its best to have all the gauges / monitoring kit in place BEFORE doing serious mods to the car, even though it means running with near-standard power for longer as I can't afford mods AND gauges at the same time
