This is my car waiting for me at the dealers for collection on 1st March - can't wait - however I'm not comfortable being too 'flash' with the car and so I have the following small mods to carry out - 1. changing Sti intake for standard WRX. 2. Just can't get used to gold wheels - esp with silver.... but what will look best - i can either play it safe and have them sprayed silver or have them finished in the new gun metal effect. What do you guys think. If anyone can photoshop the car to have gunmetal effect wheels that would be great.

Thanks guys

Wouldn't change a thing M8, don't like the gun metal wheels personally.
Cheers.
Ian.

Thanks Ian - but I do alot of about town driving and think the gold attacts a little too much attention

Maybe silvers safe-est bet - after all after a few miles - silver becomes gunmetal!!

I think the ones in the back ground are anthracite - which i think is darker - but yes, it gives a pretty good idea I guess. I'm just hopless at making decisions.... and usually you tend to get fairly worthwhile opinions on here - with some obvious exceptions

I also agree about the bonnet vent. Subaru must have gone mad when they designed that Those style wheels painted in grey on that car should look very Post pictures back on this thread when you have got it and done the mods

The 'bright flitter' FF7s don't look to bad.

IMHO the gold wheels look sh!te on silver scoobs! Look bloody good on my Blue STi8

Seem to remember reading a thread a couple of weeks ago about changing the scoop! The general consensus was its a bad idea as big scoop is required for intercooler - maybe why so many STi7's went bang?

I thought it was far too big at first, but after a coouple of weeks you get used to it and it doesn't seem so obscene anymore!

Thanks guys -

This place reminds me why I keep buying Scoobies - imagine getting delivery of your BMW and asking for help deciding on wheels etc.. who would give a toss.... mind you I guess when you buy a BMW they don't come with gold wheels, enorous scoops and pink badges

Long live the scoobynet community!

I'm with BMWhere, don't change the scoop it is there for a reason.

Not sure what would happen if someone changed it and the engine went pop, IM might have something to say.

As for the wheels, just leave them and then once they have got a bit scuffed, marked etc and you need to change tyres get them powder coated or painted.

Carl

Dealer got it done for me and charged 350 quid all in.
I believe they used spit and polish so would probably be cheaper if used direct. Finish was first class.

Ditto:

Just been to see mine today off the transporter from New Castle ..man!!

The only mod to go for is the PPP and that's ordered today and fitted in 4 weeks. Oh yes the kick strips, silver shene and STi mats are also warranted :-)

Thanks ADP - thats a great job

I think I'm gonna go with the silver - makes so much difference being able to see the photos as you've done em... cheers mate

PS - Thought it would be a change to try silver - I know it doesn't have the instant 'there's a Scooby' appeal of WR Blue and Gold - but I think it looks nice none the less. No doubt at trade in the dealer will be saying .... ahh well if it was in blue mate.... :0)

Talking

Mine has been sitting at the dealers for the last 3 weeks,

Today the dealers got it back from have the windows tinted,

I sorted the insurance today and a cover note will be sent to the dealer tomorrow.

I pick mine up on the 1st march, fingers crossed with the PPP already fitted.

First mod for the car is the ICE and one of them SPEC data thingys, then a nice set of NON GOLD 18' Wheels.

My silver STi8 arrives in two weeks time (test drove it for the first time on earlier on today).

I have decided to go for the wheels painted anthracite like Andy's.

BTW Andy, are you in richmond Surrey?

The dealer is sorting it - about £200 I think, but is bundled up with other extras I am getting so don't have the exact figure.
