Being speaking with Simon/PCB for a while now but due to my family stuff, we never met up...

BUT

Today I had the chance to go past his office, so popped in & bought/installed a S.E.C.S 103

What is that, I hear most of you ask? Well, it is (for a MY99) a replacement for the useless centre pocket binacle thingy & incorporates an LCD readout for all sorts of useful things

What does PTMW! now have?

Well, in addition to MPH, RPM, Boost, Coolant Temp (Current & Peak)

Voltage
Intake Temp
Knock correct
Ignition Point
Throttle position
Air Flow meter mass
& more

It has alarms for things like too much boost & too hot (user configurable), it has shift light settings (optional light) & Water i/c or nitrous control

It displays present & historic ECU Fault codes & as they happen.

Oh & a clock!

In an upgrade coming soon, kit for Oil Pressure, Oil Temp & Exhaust Gas Temp

It is an absolutely fantastic piece of kit, which obviously I'm very happy with On the way home, I had a top boost of 1.25 Bar, a max revs of 5945 & a top speed of...

This kit replaces the need for all sorts of dials in a readily configurable & simple unit. Quick install too, uses the select monitor port for data. It looks tasty & tells you all you need to know about your car & more

Not on a retainer, not connected (Mod rules to be abided by) but just a happy customer Quite simply the best & most innovative modification for your scoob yet

More details & official website here

Cool

I would imagine that the cost of a few electronic sensors added to the price will not be close to that for the equivilent defi units...

& I daresay it won't be long

Cool

Puff... You sure it displays AFR, Intake Temperature, and...A Clock?!

Dammit, I'll have to remove my S1003 (numero uno!), and go see the boys for an upgrade.

Might just get a shift-light whilst I'm at it too.

Exclamation

Sorry, but I disagree. Compare that to the fitment of a pod and gauges, which convey less than 50% of the info available and don't give access to user defined alarms or ECU fault-codes and the ECU re-set option!

I might wait for a while before upgrading my unit, until a Knocklink alarm facility is added.

If Puff's right and the AFR is now available on any MY99 S1003, then I can get a Dawes MBC fitted and set up.

Sqizz

Post up your "finished" pic from your instructions...

Simon & I followed those instructions step by step & if it took 30 mins in total, then I'd be surprised - just fantastic & made the task an absolute doddle

Puff - Thanks, matey. We were all very pleased with the fitment guide. Glad it took you less time than it took us! (Had to get the light right, luvvy! ).

So does the unit DEFINITELY have those new features? Only I want the AFR to use for a Dawes MBC install. I need to improve my peak boost of a paltry 1.07 Bar.

You mean this piccy?

Ahem... I know that.

However on my version for the MY99, the AFR is one of a couple of items shown as "No data". On Fizz's MY01 version, all the items are shown.

Have you actually seen this correctly output on your display? Only a software upgrade in the meantime may have enabled it.

I'll have a look when I get the car back from servicing today...

(Of course they'll unplug the select monitor socket & what's the betting they leave it unplugged "for safety reasons" )

There's so many things to play with

I saw the unit at the Glouster meet Sunday and met PCB Simon7
Was going to try it in the car but to busy doing runs with a AP22 also too cold
Maybe next time Simon had any chance to see the data yet ?

Ah-ha...It's actually the "LA" field I'm interested in. That's the Lambda Sensor reported Lambda Ratio.
