I have been in touch with Prodrive who say that a dealer can book direct to Prodrive in Banbury, for Prodrive engineers to install PPP in a day while you wait. I have been told that this could be a quicker process than wait 12-17 weeks for the dealer fit option.

Has anyone done this and if so, what was the job like?

Cheers guys

It'll be fitted in Warwick not Banbury. From all accounts it takes about 3 hours and is different to dealer fit.

Wish i'd taken my car there to have it done. They give it a once over after is has been fitted and what Prodrive don't know about the Impreza isn't worth knowing

I agree, Prodrive should know all that you need to know and more so the installation etc should be A+.

Not sure how long it takes to book it in with them though. Anyone know what to expect here?

Had PPP fitted to my STi7 at Prodrive Kenilworth, took about 3 hours but you can't see anything happening as you have to stay in the canteen or reception. I was quoted a 16 week delivery for my PPP had it fitted in 3 weeks after asking my dealer to speak to Prodrive about ways of speeding the process up

Only 3 weeks....I'm booking it on Monday!!

The 3 weeks will give me time to run it in. It's an STi MY03, the price is the same as usual i.e £1,995.

Yup.

The only issue is that IM seem to frown upon it a little. They did mine about 10 days ago, and Listers had a call from IM accusing them of queue jumping.

Unfortunately, some dealers are hanging onto the ECUs for the STi7s which means that dealers can't get more kits, even if they've returned theirs . As a result, dealers are refering some of the outstanding STi7 PPP orders to Prodrive, and I think IM would rather get those done before they get too many 8s in.

The STi8 PPP kits are being sent out though. I understand Listers had 3 in last week.

Josh

PS The PPP is £1995 inc VAT. IMHO any dealer who charges more, and there have been a few, is either ignorant or dishonest.

I think the Prodrive install is identical to the dealer fit option but with peice of mind that the job is quicker, equally good and it gives a chance to see Prodrive. Other than that everything should be identical.

It is crap though guys when you have to wait 17 weeks for a dealer fit option....a new car only takes 8!!!!!!!!

... and I notice that on the Subaru UK web site, the STi8 PPP is £1995.00 (including fitting) (including VAT)... so I echo Josh's comments about dealers charging over this.

There's been some gratuitous overcharging by dealers recently, with prices varying from £2003 to £2300. I understand that one or two of these dishonest barstewards have recredited credit cards when challenged, but the don't even apologise

£1600 is the right price for a WRX.

You will all be please to know that the delivery leadtime for all Performance Packages has been significantly reduced in recent weeks to the extent that WRX packages are available from stock and STi packages are less than half the figures quoted above.

We expect demand to increase over the next few weeks so it would help everyone if we could see demand as early as possible. If anyone is thinking of having a Performance Package fitted, please talk to your dealer and get them to place an order asap. Don't get fobbed off by them telling you that the delivery time is 16 weeks, because it isn't anymore!!

Regards

Mike

Unfortunatly she whom has to be obeyed doesn't see the importance of having PPP and it's way down the list from her kitchen!!
