I take deleivery of my first Scooby, a PPPed STi8, on March 1st, and I'm looking forward to the event immensley..... except for one small matter. I fear that if anyone sees me driving it they'll think I've just absconded with it from the visitors carp-park of the local rest-home.
I was 35 a few weeks ago, and I actually considered the Isofix child-seat brackets a major selling point of the car....
Anyone else out there ordered the auto-Zimmerframe deployment option and Ovalitine dispenser ?

My God. I typed "carp-park"......it's worse than I thought....
My only excuse is that I have a bad haddock.

I'm a little older than you, not that much. Bought a reddish blue classic. my kid sister had the cheek to ask if i was going through a mid life crisis, and that it looked like a 'boy-racers' car.

What does she know?

Young man, don't worry, she will tell you when you are not able to handle her anymore
I am a bit older than you, have a STIVII. It's amazing what experience can do, you know.
Happy Scoobing!

Mr Cool, I've had the "mid-life crisis" accusation levelled at me as well. Especially given the size of that rear spoiler and the gold alloys. I usually just wish them a nice drive home in their Focus TDCi.

Well pop pickers I will never see 30 again so maybe I am getting on a bit

I hate about 99% of all chart music and I love heavy rock music that rattles ya fillings and when the band play instruments anybody else remember those days

I wouldnt be without my scoob

Anyway for the oldes about to rock we salute you and suppose its time to go back to never, never land

Chris

50 next month - coming of age! - 2 or 4 wheels love them all if they have character and power - which the Scooby has in spades

On my second Subaru - P1 - probably the best balanced performance/drivers car that I have ever driven - and at real world prices!

People who really know cars regard Scoobys as a bit special - and those that don't - do what I do - take them for a quick spin...

Chrisp - yer obviously a man after me own heart. I'm 43 going on 23 and love nothing more than to give it a blast of Korn out the windows - and me with a big red beard an' all ! Makes a lot of them young un's think "WTF?" and I can lip read too

Dontcha just love that moment when young baseball cap comes tearing up beside you, looks over and thinks "to55er" and then you give him a little wag of the finger..."nope...think again a-hole" and then he's dust? Class bit of life that is !

Mid-life crisis? I DESERVE IT. Got a family, mortgage and sh1tloads of stress so my crisis is all mine okay? Worked hard to get to buy a brand new beautiful bug-eyed blue and will damn well enjoy it, no matter what!

ChrisP, I'm a bit partial to a bit of rock induced-concussion meself. I understand that the standard sound system in the Impreza is a tinny heap of junk. Have you got something installed which can do Black Sabbath some justice ?

as the police officer observed when he stopped me in my nice, red, shiny WRX (lowered, big zorst).....'I can see your're no boy racer, sir'

Must have been the pot belly, bald pate and hearing aids that gave it away.

Had to turn down the 200 watt sub woofer in the boot to hear what he was saying, as well (I think I was playing a Prodigy CD at the time).

Thirty four years old, eh?

I wish.

You're too late - it's been done (probably more than once, but certainly only a few weeks ago IIRC). I posted (age 55) and found I was only 4th oldest at that point. I think there were a few more came in later, up to 70's believe it or not!

I'm 34 - and work in estate agency. fair to say that not too many people get an agent come round to their house driving an Sti Scoob. Kind of makes it mark! I do get the "aren't you a bit old to drive that thing" from the less enlightened.

At work they call me the "Boo Yakka Boss" and i get the mid life crisis gags most days...!

I dont know about a good stereo system it was okay-ish (double din clarion head unit) until the exhaust system went on and now they compete to get my attention . The RA has no noise suppression so with WOT even Metallica gets drowned out.

I'm 55 in March, an STi7 keeps you young and alert. Between us me and my lad our on our fourth scooby, two each. Sterling Moss is knocking on a bit and still blows the cobwebs off around the tracks whilst on his way to pick up his pension.

35 no probs

Talking

My Dad (he's a lurker on here and would like to register but can't work out how to do it 'cos he's old and stoopid... ) is on his second scooby turbo and he's 63

His latest model has a 555 number plate, Leda B, Brembo's, STiV wing, anthracite P1 17's, scoobysport exhaust etc etc

He looked at a couple before buying this one and it was my 62 year old Mum who kept begging him to go for the more modded car

Bless 'em

Me? I'm still a youthful 39

Well Sal, I wonder if your dad gave you a clip round the ear when he read your post!

I've got a couple of years on him but its not that long since I was belting along just above the trees at 4xscooby speed+ and I have only just sold my Kawasaki ZX12R. This was because I was getting more fun out of my STI 1,(old banger) as someone said the other day! But I am proud of it.
PS Lewis will soon put a post on this thread I bet.

What's this thing that you have to be young to have a Scoob. I think it's a mind set that you get hanging around on here too long

I see loads of old duffers driving scoobs around my way - more so than young dudes.

I'll reach the big 40 next month - and since I got the Scoob I haven't enjoyed driving so much. Yes I also have the stereo thingy on very loud and get funny looks playing Wheatus, Ash and so on
