Just been quoted 18k retail for my 9 month old STI Type UK Prodrive. I swear I will never buy another Scoob, as much as I love them.

You could try an Alfa.

156 selespeed Veloce with leather £21000 list.

Motorpoint have a 10 month old version with 5k miles for £11599.

Most mainstream cars will loose around 50% in 1 to 2 years.

I going PCP from now on, pick something to suit the monthly payments and hand it back in two or three years. At least I'll know what its going to cost me.

If depreciation is a major issue you are daft to buy any car that is:
a) Brand new
b) High performance with high running costs.

Imaginge if you were buying the Sti7 now not selling - you would be laughing

Thumbs up

Lee has a good point. Whilst I buy cash nowadays anyone considering a Subaru should take his advice and go that way instead of hire purchase. I run my cars into the ground, so my MY02 Wagon in 10 years time (if I live that long !!) will be worth sod all, but I do not care one jot as it will have given me years of pleasure, I am not a victim of fashion ....Blutes

Jooles let me have your number and address, as I'll pop round to have your zero value car off you in 18 months time......

It may cost a bomb to run and insure but I'll suffer that for a free car.

flippin heck , what do you expect when you buy a brand new car and sell it within a year? You lose 2-3k as soon as it leaves the showroom, and i'm damn sure you could get more than 18k if you sell privately.

I'm afraid this is true for almost any car apart from those with a waiting list.

stop whinging and wise up. It aint subarus fault.

And there was me feeling pissed that I lost £1800 in 18 months on my MY00. Previous scoobs were much more resiliant to depreciation - best one was a MY95 that I bought in 97`and sold in 99 for the same price - now that is what I call cheap motoring!!!!!

if you sell you car for £18000 someone has had a result at you expense. Its only us owners panicing and selling cheaply thats driving the prices down.Try buying a similar car from your dealer
and see how much the price is.

Red face

And you can take solice from the fact you can come onto the Scooby's favourite BBS and get a sympathetic hearing

Advice on here is good - keep it for at least 5 years !
