What are they like compared to Bug-eyes, classics?
Forget looks for now, what are they like to drive?

shame i've not got £25k

i've told beechdale to ring me when the MY03 demo cars ready to be sold..its in the WRC Blue.. (which i really like, make a change from my Red car)...but i'd seriously consider having it... if the price is right and i get a good px on my97...and there not wanting silly money for the MY03...at 4months old and 7k miles on the clock etc etc.

Please dont be so condescending as to knock the original Scoobs. They still go like the proverbial and the handling is outstanding. It really is not clever or smart to make comments like that just because they are not brand new cars.

Those of us with the older ones have them because we respect the car for itself and not because we are trying to impress everyone else.

Well said Leslie, I've got a classic because, imho, its the best. That doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a bug-eye or a new doe-eye under the right circumstances, but I wouldn't stand there and say the classic shape was now a 'banger' for any reason at all. Some may be badly treated/looked after, but thats about it.

justmy 2c worth

Cheers

Majority of scoobs on the road are classics dont forget . Majority of WRX on the road arent UK spec ones either . So I am waiting for Subaru to bring out a motor quicker than my classic before I swap.

<.........this user is tiddling thumbs and waiting.......>

It seriously beats me though how anybody can pay 25k for a car and accept the ****e stereo system and then have the nounce to pay for another set-up, must have money to waste.

To sell me a new Scooby would mean putting the ****e right before i parted with the dosh.

Unhappy

God , there's some really sad &*(^ %^&$ on this thread
Get a life every one
Some will think there PRE 2001 is best , some there 01-03 and others there 03 ????
Give it a rest !!!!!!!!!!! You people who think that people buy a new STI8 or 03 , don't you think that 99% have also owned a PRE 01 ?? They are not just doing it to impress, they are doing it because they want the latest spec and faster car.
Looks like a lot of back stabbing jealous people out there.

Its very poor
Change the head unit for a single din even if you spend just £160 it will be 5 x better than the standard,
Easy to do just order a 1 din pocket from your dealer £18 and fit the single din unit , speakers are poor also but are okay for 80% of people i would think.
My Bness partner is just about to change the speakers in his 02wrx not expensive at £120 i think and that will make it even better.

I'm getting my MY03 in March (Sat 1st hopefully) and have heard nothing but bad press about the Scooby's standard audio system. I will look to upgrade the head unit first and then maybe the speakers afterwards, depending on whether it is better to upgrade in that order or not.

Think I'll do a few searches under ICE...

"dopey-eye" is a good name - doesn't make it sound great, but they (imo) do look nicer than bug-eye's. And NO, you can't call classic's "bangers". "Original", maybe (or maybe that's a step in the wrong direction, think of all the other things that do an "original" flavour or style).

Bug-eye's always are and always will be bug-eye's. Unless they come out with another bug-eye shape in future years (ye gods, I hope not)

Ids-glad you didn't mean it really-as someone said"thats alright then"

Tboner

You really should read the posts properly before you shoot your mouth off. the replies were from people who objected to the inference that classics are old bangers. There is no jealousy involved and if I really wanted a modern Scoob I would get one. I happen to own a rare limited edition Scoob in good condition which I like very much and have no wish to change thanks. Remember it was the other guy who started the criticism.

You would do well to remember also that using unpleasant language weakens your argument and merely shows up your own shortcomings.
