Have to admit, three months on since I bought mine, it looks better every day.
I thought the new one looked more like a Celica than anything else

Your not alone. I think the bugeye looks pretty good. Didn't like it that much at first but the more I looked at it the more I thought it is a very good new shape.
The WRX III I absolutely hate, the ride height is way to high, the lights are to big, the front bumper looks unfinished and it even looks old and flabby from the side.
May be the new shape will grow on me like the bugeye, but at the moment every time I see it I hate it even more.

My STI 7 is great - a bit ugly, but just the way I like it.
MY03 ok - but very much like everything else. Can't see why people don't like front scoop bet think rear spoiler fine?

ChrisP, 150kg heavier but a whole 10bhp more on the WRX - Oh, that's still cr4p isn't it?
to MY98 they were 208bhp
MY99-MY00 (last of classics) 215bhp
MY01-MY02 WRX (bug eyes) 215bhp
Dont know where this extra 10bhp has come from ?
MY03 WRX III supposedly has a few extra bhp due to revised exhuast about 223bhp (225PS)

the classic is dated! FACT. the bug eye is ugly FACT! but.... with the addition of STi7 wheels, WR Spoiler, Morrettes, full decat, clear lenses etc etc the bug eye suddenly becomes a more realistic option, if the 2nd hand market on bugeyes has taken a knock then lets see what happens to the classic over the next year. the e30 m3 is a superb drivers car as is perhaps the classic, but i'd take an e36 m3 any day of the week when it cames to spending my cash!

Classic the best because I have one therefore biased, Bug eye loooks sort of OK, drove one & was well impressed, Looked at the STi 8, Bug eye now looks better !!!.
I have now worked out how the STI 8 was desined, Take a Lexus car designer, Give him the Image of a bugeye, fill him up with saki & then allow him one minuite with photshop. There Job done, they should now sell. We will see !!!

I like my "bugeye" more and more. The lights can be fixed and I seldom see them anyway. I bought the car for pure driving pleasure, not to impress the drivers I meet (cos they won't notice anyway)
PS - Bugeye is still an Austin me thinks
STIVII
