On my way into Bedford this morning, a police traffic car made what I would call a very stupid attept to overtake the car in front of him, me going in the oppsite direction had to brake really hard to avoid hitting him head on, may I add that this police car DID not have it's blues and two's on, scared the **** out of me, good job the road was only wet, pretty pissed off, I can only imagine the guy made a mistake and did not see me because of the bright sunlight.
Cheers

I would report the guy for Dangerous Driving. If it was too bright he should have known better, maybe he was late for his break...

Report him, no doubt if you did it in front of a police car you would be up on a dangerous driving charge!

Oh yes that would have been a nice thing to do, What would have been my chances of getting away with it though.

Agree we all make mistakes.

But when the police see us make mistakes it cost us points and a fine at least. Dangerous driving can cost you a ban and re'test.

Dont think its worth reporting though the attention you would get would not be worth it.

the police are currently being reviewed on this matter ,,,,,

the incidents involving deaths with police cars is quite high across the country

A close friend was nearly killed due to a police car shooting a red light on a road with a hump back bridge ,

im all for stopping the criminal , but in new york USA they have just banned police car chases due to the amount of innocent ppl being killed , now is that something for our police forces to look into .

Most of us have been lectured by Mr Plod about the error of our driving ways, and are supposed to be setting us mere mortals a good example of driving practice.

I would complain - it is unlikely he will be prosecuted unless there are independant witnesses. However, he will probably get a bolloking from his boss, which should serve to remind of the need to pay due care and attention while in control of a car...

Colin.

Why don't you post this on

Plod runs this one and is set up by Plod Scooby drivers.

I would say that they should not put others at risk no matter the emergency

I had a similar thing happen to me a couple of years back. I made a complaint. It was dealt with sensibly and I have no reason to believe I have suffered any discrimination because of the complaint since then. If no-one complains, the next time he decides to have a similar lapse in judgement may well kill someone else.

Its a shame you couldn't trace the offender because if its like you say a police traffic car then he would have had his incar camera running and there you have the evidence on his own video. I'm sure if the boot had of been on the other foot, you would have been booked. Ady.

Exclamation

Shop him, he wouldn't think twice about doing the same to you!

He (the Police) should be setting an example to other road users, how can he (the Police) on one hand tell us to be good when he clearly isn't (they aren't)?

Police cars are driven by human beings

Strange but true

Think you are probably doing the right thing by letting it go and as you said.. they are capable of making errors too.
