Cool

I had my STi7 PPP'd a few month's ago and after a rolling road day only achieved 287bhp and 245 lbs of Torque should have been nearer 300 for both. I have always been please with the performance since PPP so Mike Wood offer us (STi7 PPP) a visit to Prodrive to check out the PPP. I also had the O2 check light come on so they were checking that aswell
As the two guys with a lap top went out in my car on the test track and did 4 0-150mph runs Mike took me out in a Prodrive live car he really does enjoy driving as he does it very well indeed I would have loved to drove it myself but reckon I learn't more experiencing the drive. I did try a few of the techniques on the way home but didn't work quite the same in my car must have been the tyres I Just had 2 SO3's fitted, the old un's only did 6900 miles

Back to the story they replaced a component for the O2 fault. checked my car and the fiqures were 300+ on both accounts, according to laptop results and made no software changes so I'am a very happy bunny

Tony

Prodrive live day for christmas please Santa

Did they have an idea if this is a generic fault with the PPP kit or if it was just a one-off problem with your car Tony?

And presumably, the car now feels a lot better, where it counts, on the road?

So when are you putting it back on the rollers

Yeah, driving with Mike is a nine-inch grin job! You're one lucky fellow..... I'll have to try to find something wrong with my PPP so as to have an excuse.... Trouble is, can't find too much wrong with it (well , actually)

Don't suppose you'd like to drive my rattly suspension, would you, Mike

Barnaby,
Too teckie for me, but has something to do with the rear O2 sensor and low voltage according to the box of tricks. No maps, software or restrictors were hurt during any of the tests LOL

Matt,
Maybe, one day, the car has always gone well since PPP but if your told by a R/R that missing 50 Lbs Torque you wonder hows much better it would be If they'd done the car in a higher gear full boost may have been acheived.
Power contol, Drivability and on the road performance what counts

Phil,
Awesome car crontol I was hoping to have a go in it myself but 20 minutes with Mike was far better than me driving it for an hour

Steve,
I posted the Rolling road Topic "does it do what is says on the tin" ie 300bhp/299lbs Torque. Four of us there were Sti7 PPP'd and all achieved lowish fiqures. I recieved an email from Mike Wood saying he was concerned that the fiqure were so low offering some explanation. Also offered us all to have all our cars checked out at Prodrive, the others are being done after Christmas.

Tony,

Ps Must pop and see Mike, my side light bulb has gone

Nils,
The CD came through the other day many Thanks

Were the rolling road figures right or wrong simple answers is 'yes' and 'no' O/K Flame suit on
Bhp figures are fairly accurate +or- 2% depenant on who's R/Road.Torque will depend on which gear the test is done and how much load/resistance is given by the R/R if you don't acheive full boost the Torque figure will more effected than Bhp. IMHO AFAICR
As I understand it and put in simple speak for a simple person Up the road, first, second and third you may never achieve fullboost, In 4th gear you might do with headwind or up a hill, more likely 5th & 6th. flame suit OFF
I am Lead to believe Prodrive did there tests at MIRA on a rolling road in a wind tunnel with a fan the size of a small house. The R/Road resistance and wind replicate the cars loading during on road use at the same speeds. They can could do tests continously for 8 hours and no harm to vehicle which would not be the case on a standard R/road.

Tony

Ps Are you happier with it

"do tests continously for 8 hours"

I presume that the car had an extra fuel tank (or ten)

Have yourself a day at 1stLotus. Managed at least 1 hour 1 to 1 driving with Andrew Walsh, the instructor, and I recommend it highly - as have others on SN. Although the website could be read to mean you have to go in groups of 4 (and to go with 3 mates undoubtedly would add to the day), you need only make a single booking for yourself in fact.

all: Ummm, have we a measurement problem here, or a potential shortfall in some/many/all PPPs?? I'd find it difficult to believe mine's short of anything much, given the way it's transformed the car

Happy Christmas all

Phil
