Mods, feel free to move if this is not the correct place
As is rather well known, my car does not get cleaned that often, hence the graffiti it's usually found to be covered in
Now, I DO have some of Mr Underwoods lovely products, and have used them once or twice and they are great.
Now, some of you lavish WAY more attention on your cars than I do, so I'm after some of your cleaning tips.
For example, can you give me a run down of exactly what you do, what you use (I think some aqua is used somewhere? ) ie; sponge, terry cloth, old pants , plus any other tips. Oh and the ol nur spec is a bit filthy so making it shiny again would be nice, so how to do that?
Anyone got one of the clay bars? if so then how exactly does one use it? I know I could phone or email Mark, but I don't want to hassle the poor chap!
Basically I feel I should give the old hearse a bit of TLC, if it's only once every 6 - 12 months
Thanks

For my blitz I used autoglym metal polish. Best is to put two wheels up on the kerb. That way its easier to get under the car and clean the exhaust.
I usually do the following for a full clean. In the winter I try to just keep the mud, salt and other crap off the car by blasting it off with the pressure washer. No point in going overboard as it will be dirty again in a few days.
1. Pressure washer (low power) off all the crap from the paintwork, wheels, arches etc.
2. Hot soapy water (with whatever car cleaning liquid u have) and clean entire car by hand.
3. Rinse with cold water (pressure washer again but on spray mode).
4. Remove excess water.
5. Chamois all over.
6. Apply wax/super resin polish going all the way around car then starting where I first started and removing polish with lint free polish cloth (halfords).
7. Remove any crap from wheels with turtle wax alloy cleaner - spray first one then go round and leave to settle then wipe off.
8. Apply turtle wax extreme tyre gel to the tyre walls.
9. Clean windows with autoglym fastglass unless really bug ridden then I use car glass polish first.
10. Vacum and polish interior.
Add several cups of coffees and breaks in between those and you should be sorted.

Mark, if there is nothing 'super secret' in the spreadsheet, and you're ok with this, I can zip the file up and host it on my website where people can download it. Let me know if you wish to do this and we'll sort it out.

I'd love to get a copy of Mark's spreadsheet...planning on doing a serious cleaning and re-waxing job during the Xmas break as the weather here should be nice and mild.

this is wot i do ,,,,,,,,
1:twice a year apply dimondbrite protector ( 2 stage protector ) , on all parts of car
2:at least once a week hose car , all over wheels the lot ,
3: Wash car with a sponge and a good wax shampoo ,,, starting at top working down to wheels lastly
4:hose off .
5:Now a tip,, put a clean sponge in a 1/4 full bucket of cold water , with 3 capfuls of MIR protector solution , and then use sponge aply and let drip /run all over car , wheels being last ,
6:Fianlly use the shammy to dry off the mixture of water/MIR
Your car will now be ready for most things , even stone chips

right, 5 mins are up
if you want the files, which are word documents NOT Excel spreadsheets, then have a look here
Note: please DO NOT email me with questions about the files. Email or post up for Mark Underwood instead.
Hope this helps some of you.
