Edited to mention that page http://www.trafcam.com/testgps.htm mentions Garmin handhelds as reportedly working....

Question

Is there a downloadable GATSO database anywhere that can be loaded in to GPS units such as my Street Pilot III? Seems bonkers to have to buy an additional GPS unit.

Are any of the databases used by Road Angel etc available for a fee/subscription? I've not had any luck in scouring the net.

Cheers!

:-)

Not sure of technical side of things but could this be used with your Street Pilot?
www.trafcam.com
Let me know if it does

Thanks for the TrafCam lead, sadly it can't be used as an imported database but can be used in conjunction with a palm organiser - I've copied some of their reply:

Unfortunately the only format we can supply the data in is only compatible
with the TrafCam program to run either on Palm or Pocket PC. You could use
your SP as the GPS source for a PDA running TrafCam, though, which would
allow you to have navigation (on the SP) and camera warnings (on the PDA).
The software is £49 for Palm devices, or £79 for Pocket PC devices. You
could probably pick up a suitable Palm PDA for less than £100 if you don't
mind buying second hand - in fact I saw a Palm m100 in WH Smiths the other
day for £60. All you need is a cable to link it to the Garmin and you're
sorted.

We have had one or two requests to supply the data as a waypoint for other
systems but at the moment have no plans to do that.

Very good response from them but don't know if that's the way I want to go....
