MY01 Versus MY00
#1
I think I have been converted. I reckon the MY01 is now better looking than the classic. The colour of the intercooler under that alumininium bonnet has done it for me. Its silver !! Not black. Looks the business to me. The fins still get damaged by those naughty men at the Subaru dealerships though when they rest their spanners on them

Hi Pete,
That remark about the naughty men at subaru bending the fins on the intercooler due to them being lazy gits and resting their spanners where they shouldn't is this true ?? Did you approach anyone about this?
Has anyone else experienced this ??

I mentioned it to the service manager who denied all knowledge. How the hell can I prove it ? Set a hidden camera under the bonnet maybe ? Not likely, we are stuck with it and are going to hell in a handcart. What is the detrimental effect anyway does any engineers on here know ?

I noticed that the fins on my intercooler are suffering a bit, possibly from debris flying in? Is there anything to worry about or shold some form of filter be fitted? I've only covered 5,000 miles (in 4 weeks!) so expect the damage to increase. BTW, it's unlikely that the service guys did it with their spanners as it's only had the 1,000 mile service so far!
