Hmmm,
I've just been browsing the American version of this bulletin board, and was perusing the gallery section. They have a load of pictures from last Novembers Rally GB, with supposedly funny quotes under them. Apart from being the most boring photos imaginable from a rally, the comments are that of a 5 year old!

hey...
easy there... I took those pictures and I did the best I could... this was my first trip to the UK and a "real" rally event... there were many more pictures, but the web site owner posted those he liked best... NOT MY FAULT!!
also.... FYI I did not write those comments, the site owner did and I thought he was rather funny...
this year at the event I'll try harder to get pics that are more to your liking..
? Maybe you'll come show me the *good* spectator sites so i can get better shots???

Subie Gal,
Not knocking the pictures per se, just not exciting considering what rallying is all about. The SIDC go en masse to the rally, so if you are over this time, join up with them to see some good action. Then you can educate all your compatriots about real motorsport!
As for the "funny" comments, I don't think he should give up his day job.
It's good to see some Yanks taking in interest in non-circular forms of motorsport at last.

There's actually a pretty active rally scene in the USA. Both here in the North West where there are great forests and nationally.
Also, RallyX is very popular. Different to the UK format though.
See they are learning to turn right as well as left

Just so you know, my day job is studying literature and culture at Columbia University in New York City. I don't plan on giving that up any time soon, so you needn't worry. I see you're posting on "<I>our</I>" board now...unleash not your foul gloom upon our message board!
To the other UKers, welcome to those who have made the virtual crossing and begun posting on our board. Your knowledge and input are vital! After all, we all have <I>essentially</I> the same cars..albeit ours are a little underpowered...for now...ciao from snowy NYC.
Oh ya, just to slap myself with a disclaimer for the Brits: I've always found NASCAR to be revolting and drag racing boring. Rally racing and track racing have always been my interests. I'll be damned if I'm not the first American SWT driver

Nowt wrong with drag-racing: 5000hp of sheer power getting you to 100 under a sec. Gotta be good. Tractor-pulling: now we are talking SERIOUS power. Multiple engines, dozens of litres, and TENS of thousands of horsepower. Drool. Shame they only go 100m or whatever.

Welcome US scoobers.
Can't say I found the captions under the photos offensive.
Glad to see you joke about Skodas as well ( 'What the hell is that?'-caption under Octavia WRC, which I presume was a jibe.)
Comic exchanges between our great nations have continued for years and wit is a national asset.
'English cars have steering wheels you know' as the great Torquay hotelier Basil Fawlty once said to a visiting American.

Subie Gal,
Why should we be afraid? Do you look like Nosferatu?
Or are you more akin to something out of Baywatch (and I don't mean David Hasselhof!!)
