It was actually a 5.18 second time - but it was VERY WET ! It was timed by REVS at York Dragway! last Wednesday (20th Nov 2002)

I know you will all contest this and say its not possible - but it is!!

yo wez, It IS possible, even in your standard scoob . a flat 5sec time is what most of the car mags get when testing a uk scooby. reckon you would have been in the high 4's if it had been dry.

managed a 4.3s myself , although worked out the time from a video playback...

"list it being 5mph out at 60"

It'll vary from car to car.

the bigger the wheel as in 17" 100mph would be 106 and 18" 100mph would be 104

also power would appear down the bigger the wheel not sure how but this is what mervin at powerengineering told me

About 4 years ago, Performance Car mag got something like 5.01 out of a standard UK turbo, think it was a MY97.

Wasn't a one off freakish run either, as they did two runs and took the average. Car had minimal fuel in it though.

I'll see if I can find the article.

Thumbs up

Whether its 5.1 (Top Gear 97MY) or 5.5 (Autocar 98&99MY) it doesn't really matter.

(I still have plenty of road tests on the classic Impreza for sale - brochures nearly all gone now)

Just goes to show how lowish weight, solid power and 4 wheel drive work so well together.

For the standard UK turbo pre 99 about 5 secs is true yet in the official numbers they quote 5.9 as in real life you can always squeeze more.
Question is, the my03 sti ppp is officially 4.6 secs so what do you reckon it REALLY will be?

So for a MY98 with full decat, sub 5 seconds sounds about right? Just curious to know, cos I haven't had mine officially timed.

Cool

The wet weather allow a certain amount of slip at the wheels which the scoob seems to like. Better times in the wet for all scoobs methinks

Stef ran 4.52 0-60 in REVS Scoobs Vs Cossies. UK MY98 with zhorst & air-filter. That was a wet day
