would check service history as at 60 k its due a very major service which is a bit pricey,so make sure its done or taken into consideration. Get someone to give it a good lookover, make sure no "unknown " body repairs done, as quite a lot of metalwork is hidden in the engine bay, so you cannot see too much, better still, see if you can get it to a garage with a ramp, have a loo underneath.
Once you roadtest it, check see how it drives, make sure it does not wander off to one side or the other, as most scoobs [99%] dont and are very stable when driven.
Done go near one where the engine knocks or rattles, yet again , expensive!

my FTO is SO bad its done 36 thousand (SO SAY)it needs new arbs and drop links the mivec chip in the ecu has blown up brakes are very pore gear box syncromesh is getting worn i hope there are not so may problems with a scooby as with this
whats the most common thing to go wrong?
if the car pulls one way is it a get out and walk away job or get out and see if they have maching tyres on as this may cause pulling
