Question

Hi all, wondering if anyone knows of a classic shaped scooby newer than a 51 plate? I have seen two 51 plate 5 door turbo`s. Anyone got a newer one on here?

hte only way they can be on a 51 or newer plate is if they were lying around some dealers for a year when the new shape came out producton would have stopped on the old shape so if youve seen one on a 51 plate the car would have stood for over a year before some idiot bought it might as well of bought a good condition
X reg that wouldnt have sat rusting somehwere

My DBM is a V ref and DVLA logbook lists year of first registration as February 2000. I have seen W, X and Y reg's but thought anything on a 51 plate or after was a new shape

y reg on classic shape is old stock that has been lying around for ages and someone buys it so if you have 51 reg how long do you think thats been lying around, fair enough its a new car cause no one has driven it but it could have stood for 2 years for all you know, do you really think subaru made the classic shape for over a year after it was discontinued, i think not. wait until the newer shape imprezas come out and you see a bugeye on o 54 plate youll all know that bast**d would have sat in a field somewnere for over a year before some mug buys it, phew im out of breath lol

Stevebt, why refer to someone as a mug or idiot, just for buying a 51 classic. YOU have seen my car, and a few other people have seen it under the flesh as it were!

Bet you did not know mine was not registered until nearly christmas las year. It had been used by the garage on trade plates for going to and from the sales showroom and service garage at the other side of town.

When i bought it, it had only 80 miles on the clock, checked for all areas of "stagnentation", but non. Most of the dealers i rang trying to find a very late classic, had done the same as above, but left registering them (because IFAIK that was when they had to pay subaru for them) till as late as possible.

Personally i think i got a very good deal, and would not class myself as an idiot or a mug for buying that car!

If you at one just look at the white tag at the bottom of the driver seat belt, that tells you when the car was built .

did not pay full price in fact far from it. come to think of it, it was a few £1000's less than a 2nd hand bugeye with 10000 on the clock.

I remember my local dealer having two classic 5 dr's for sale long after the bug eye came on the scene & reduced by a good few quid,at
the time i was very tempted, only reason i didn't was because i'd only had my 5 dr for a little over a year and as for them being in a field one of them had pride of place in the main showroom.
Now if anyone has one unregistered now can they please mail me
