OK, I'm getting closer and closer to purchasing a scooby, and it's gonna need Cat 1 alarm/immob. What I want to know is, which is a decent one to use, and where is the best place to get it installed (I'm in Tunbridge Wells in Kent)

I've looked at the specs of the Clifford Concept 600 and it looks groovy, is it any good? Is the turbo-timer option worth it?

What alarms do you people have and are they any good?

dazdavies:
groovy, have been quoted similar price and told that it's quite good.

Also was told about Serpi Star alarm. Which the fitter said that the local Subaru Dealer got him to fit!!! pretty good recomendation if you ask me!

I'd reccomend the serpi star CAT1, and it cost me £300 fitted by the showroom. For a bit more you can upgrade it to window closure and antijack, its up to you ?

I have fitted a Cat 1 Cobra A6422 modular cat 1, microwave, shock, anti-jack, glass-break. It is a very good alarm and on inspection is manufactured to a high standard, you could do alot worse, also reliability is high, OE on quite a few cars. Most important is how your alarm is fitted,99% are not up to scratch, disguising loom etc, not using proper splices ie raychem
hope of some use. Luke

I have the Concept 300 with proximity sensor, anti-tilt and turbo-timer, and have nothing but praise for it.
Runs for 1 min 30 secs before turning off if you want it to.
Absolute Godsend.

Stef.

Another vote for Clifford, this time for the Concept 600. Anti-hijack, wireless immobiliser, ... : brilliant. Never had any trouble. Use a good installer, and you'll be chuffed.

Nick Lines:
Where'd you get the 600 from? I've heard that they are not available in the UK yet, is this not the case?

I too have Clifford alarms but they have been added to supplement or increase the security provided by the manufacturs alarm/security systems. Very reliable and thoroughly recommended.

Ray T:
For kent, try Street Stereo in Tonbridge, 01732 362949

I'd suggest the Serpi Star (don't know exact model no)

These guys install the alarm systems for the local Subaru Dealer (Lancaster Subaru in Sevenoaks) so they must be good.
