My journey to work is fairly monotonus. 25 miles of mainly country roads with a reasonable amount of traffic. Notb too much chance to play.
There are a couple of places to overtake if there is nothing coming. So, this morning, I came up behind a Rover 400 (a biege one...) who was not *making progress*. I was feeling fairly hacked off for various reasons and what does cheer me up no end is bing able to floor the loud pedal on the Scoob.
Anyway, we came up to one of the overtaking sections and, even though another car was 100yds in front which meant that I wouldn't get very far, I checked it was all clear and floored it! Past in no time. That kick in the back gets you every time.
I then glanced in the rear view mirror. The driver (I would call him a middle aged old fart but he was probably my age, but going to seed whereas I've retained my youthful good looks....-
) was clapping me! The obvious meaning was "Stupid pillock - so that got you precisely nowhere!". As I said, they don't understand...!

What do you mean your trip to work is monotinous - YOU SEE ME...!!! sometimes... 
and in your case - overtaking -the getting ready there of- I noticed is not called 'climbing all over that poor little rover...tut tut tut....!
I did the same thing the other morning - shot past a car (well two actually) to get rid of Mr. Merc who was on my bumper - he'd freaked - woman drives scoobie....aaaahhh...
and when I looked he hadn't gone for it and he had time.... then I saw it didn't I the flashing blue lights -....my heart just sunk and the two creeps I just past were grinning from - like that....
the the cop car just kept going didn't they.... somebody up there loves me....
the guy behind gave me the thumbs up.... and I sped off at 90.... ha ! sorted...
we live to do it again.... we love it...

i used to love passing slow crawling traffic up steep hills in my cossie, pull out in 2nd, wheel spin to 50MPH, go into 3rd wheel spin to 80MPH, got some flashing lights for that for some reason, not sure why
