Just to let you all know that I've finally got my RB5 back with the PPP added. Prodrive supplied the bits to my dealer who fitted it for me. Got to run it in for next 1000 miles due to the new piston (frustrating) so I can't tell if it's any quicker yet.

Question to anyone who may know..

I understood that part of the PPP was to remove one of the CATs, the one in the centre exhaust section to be precise. Is this true? Me and a mate were looking at my car today and while the centre pipe HAS been replaced it looks exactly like the old one. Is this anything to worry about or is this normal? I would have asked my dealer but they were closed by the time we were looking.

One more question, on my bumf I got with the car originally detailing what the PPP consisted of it lists a Replacement Air Filter, I know for a fact that a standard one has been fitted to mine. Again, is this the norm?

As of yet my dealer has made no mention of any compensation for my inconvenience. Considering I was without the car for eight weeks and had to make other arrangements for transport I was hoping they would volunteer something. I think I should mention something when it goes back in for it's post run in service in a week or so.

Cheers,

Gary.

The center section wont have a cat in but it does look like an original..this is normal
Pre 98 prodrive cars had RamAir filters but post 98 kept the original filters so by the sounds of it youve got what you should have ...enjoy the torque you should now have over 240 ft/lb of the stuff and im sure you will notice it

Have fun

There may have been some variation on the PPP depending on MY. Certainly on MY00 the air filter was NOT part of the package. Try SIDC site for details.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, you've put my mind at rest!

I think I've been a little paranoid recently because of all the hassle I've had.

Cheers.

The center section is replaced with an STi baffle section, it does look similar to a cat but gives you a rasphy affect when going above 4k a nice decat gives you the same affect but from around 1.5k so worth it

So is the replacement centre section as per a catted one but with the same resonator box and the cat core taken out?
If so then will bashing out the core in a DIY style do the same job but for less money?

Nick not realy as you would be left with a huge area for the exhaust gasses to circulate around where the cat used to be, dont think it would help the flow of the gasses much

I went from a decat STI centre to a straight through TSL centre and there was a difference (for the better ).

I've had the PPP on my UK300 but fitted with a Scorpiopn Oval exhaust back box and centre section plus I have had TSL remove the resonator section with a straight through piece of pipe. Sounds better now and more torque lower down. I would recommend this exhaust mod as it is only approx £100 fitted
