Opened the garage today and noticed a crease in the bonnet and the headlight washer broken on my P1. It must have happened yesterday but I cannot say when. I never noticed it when putting the car away.
I took the car to my dealer who gave an estimate of 800-1000 quid they tell me a new bonnet is required.
They asked me how I was getting on with the P1 and I told them I was pissed off with it. The car spends most its life at my garage a few miles from my dragon’s house and it’s depreciating at about £1000 a month. I cannot park it at the dragons where I live as the kids in this area are not to be trusted. After a bit of chatting my dealer gave me a price on me selling my car and a part X price on any car in the showroom. I sold the car then and there and bought an Outback H6.

I'm very sorry to hear that mate.
But hey..you're still in the Scooby family...and a H6 isn't that bad...wonder what BRD could do with that one, a few turbos and a little time.

Bob will it be any good across Exmoor? Who will go to the rolling road days now you've sold the P1 ? Just had a look at the subaru site , looks a nice motor .Hope you get on better with this one .

Bob, I don't know what you were offered p/ex but somebody at work has said that prodrive are offering new P1s at 21k to shift them (prior to Sti? although maybe just a rumour as he wants me to get an old'un - Luddite )

Apple... I can't really see Prodrive selling P1's for £21K (just yet) - near enough the same price as the then current MY00 and a current standard WRX??? They must be making a serious loss at that price. If they do anything (which my dealer said they won't ) then I'd be surprised if they don't have a punt at say around £28K first.
But if they do...well I'm gonna have SERIOUS words with my dealer
Martin (P1, 2 weeks old, cost significantly more than £21K)

Sorry to hear that Bob. It was a very nice car. I remember asking you in Members gallery, why it had no stone chips after 6 months ownership I think and you replied that it only had 500 miles on the clock. Sorry to hear it's gone. I'd consider buying it if I lived in the UK. It was well looked after and I too am a fussy owner. My car also spends alot of time in the garage.
Good luck with your new wheels m8.
Cheers,
Wrexy.
PS I hope you stay on the bbs and post like you have been. I've enjoyed reading your posts and have learned from your valuable info. Always interesting. Keep it up!!!

Blimey Bob !
We've been Scoobying together for about 3 years now. You were one of the three forming members of the SW clan. Now you and Nick have sold their Scoobs, what are we to do ?
Exmoor won't be the same.
Don't know what more to say at the mo'
Cheers
Steve.
Are you coming down to the Karting on Sunday ?

I sold my MY00 X reg P1 for £24,000. The H6 car is Y reg and 2001.and cost me £24,000. So straight swap.
I am still a Subaru owner and will continue to use this BBS as well as other boards. I will also go to the RR and SW meets. You don’t get rid of me that easily.
I thought the P1 was and still is a great car but it just gives to much attention for me. Its the best Impreza I have had.
Perhaps If I could have parked the P1 outside the dragon’s house that would have helped but leaving the car a mile or two away in a garage did not help. Sometimes I would get a taxi to the garage to get the car. Whats the point on having transport that needs transport to get it. I can leave the H6 outside the house its just another car to the young un’s.
So if any of you lads and lassie's see a H6 with a large Ridgeback in the rear snarling at everyone give me a toot as you go by.

A new P1 for 21K ! I certainly hope your right ! You can count me in for one. But seriously, if anybody finds out anything for definate about a reduction in price to move the remaining new P1's, I would be more than grateful to hear about it in a post. I have been wanting one for quite a while now but the prices I have been asked to change from my MY2000 turbo were ridiculous. On that note, is there anybody out there who would be willing to trade a 2000 car with a host of Prodrive goodies for a low milage P1 ? Anyway, keeping a close eye on the prices at the mo ! Just for the record, the cheapest place I have found so far was from my local subaru garage in Ireland. He told me if I would allow him to register the car in the garages name he could then sell it to me as a demonstrator with only the delivery miles for 28K ! Has anybody found any new cars cheaper than this ? Thanks !

I bought my P1 in July from Listers Worcester. It is a 2000 reg and had 6K5 on the clock.
I managed a what I thought was a good deal and am happy with it - except the security thing - have had badges stolen - drive around with windows and doors locked.
Ricky - are you looking for a new P1 or would you be interested in a 2000 model?

Quite a few posts say "he's sold his Scoob". Seems to me he's sold his P1 but is still a Scoob owner. All should be welcomed. A heavilly modded Outback could be a nice street-sleeper motor...

Bob, that's a very sorry story, but I'm even sorrier to say that you're probably not alone.
Though to be fair, the problem isn't the P1...
Richard.

In responce to your question about whether I would want a new P1 or a 2000 registered car, the answer is, I would have prefered a new one, but if the car belongs to a genuine enthusiast who has treated it as it should be, I guess either would do. Can I assume your talking about your own car ? If you want to get in touch my e-mail is r.kelso@btinternet.com.
Thanks !
