Other than the RA-Limited has a roof vent and the RA don't, is there any other difference?
Cheers
John
(hope to have one of these damn things soon, then the questions can really begin )

Hi John
OK, I'll have a crack at this :
Not quite sure exactly what you're asking, so I'll try and answer : what's the difference between STI and non STI v-lim (version 6).
STIs have :
a higer red line of 8k (as opposed to 7.5)
big spoiler
4 pot front brakes
STI BB
centre diff control
carbon strut brace
STI pistons
RA limited (version 6)'s don't have a roof vent
Helpful at all ??

Thanks for the info, what I'm tyring to establish is, would I be better off going for an STi6 RA, or a STi5 Type R v-limited.
Obvious thing being one is a 2 door and one a 4.
I've got some info on the STi6 RA but wondered what difference there is verses the RA v-limited version.
Stroof this is getting confusing
Planning a trip round the country tomorrow looking at some cars I've tracked down, got cash burning a hole in my pocket but want the best spec'd car I can for my money, and the best looked after aswell.

For the fugly RA see

There is also info on the Classic Type R and the RA on
http://www.iwoc.co.uk/jpstir.html but its not as concise as the New age stuff.

a real type r v-limited is based on a v4 and looses a lot. They have a small rear spoiler(same as early uk cars),tiny twin tail pipes(same as uk cars),no side skirts,no front spliter, black lower spec intercooler,no diff control,v-limited yellow crest on black seats. It does have roof vent and only comes in blue, they were all made in 97 & 98. A lot of people add bits to make them more like a std v 4, so totally original ones are very rare.
You cant get a 2 door RA. There is a lot of differences between a V4 and a V5. V5 and V6 are the same except the 6 has a lip on the rear spoiler and a slightly lower fornt spliter.
