Agreed.

Problem is, most people who don't know the difference and see these prats on the road will tar my car with the same brush. I know, I've seen it happen.

Got bored about half way down....

Has the smack of "Jimmy Hill's itchy beard" about that.

"yeah and I was going so fast that the coppers just imploded so I kept it hard down, lightly balancing the car as I took the hairpin at 350 mph"

Quote from that thread

"THANKS GOD i got away with that one...i have many more to tell as the driving up here is MAD...and the respect for the police is TINY"

Looks like his brain is tiny too. I'm sure that if his house was burgled he'd be only too happy to use the services of the police.

Undoubtedly, if you were to meet him, he would be very spotty and wear a baseball cap backwards.

I am appalled, absolutely appalled.

I wonder how many people have not posted to that thread because they've killed themselves or other people, whilst driving in the insane manner that some of those RS drivers seem to think is so macho.

From the look of it, the average IQ of an RS driver is about 100 lower than a scoob driver.

Maybe there is a call for Ethnic-Cleansing...

(JOKE!)

Oh Dear, indeed...No doubt some poor kids in a school mini-bus are gunna catch one of the RS boys head on - It's just a matter of when.

Remember RS owners everywhere...If you're going to wear a baseball cap, at least don't have it so tight as to restrict bloodflow to that little mushy thing you call a brain.

PS

The Law will have you...(Fingers crossed)

Hang on guys didn't someone post how thay got 150 mph out of their M-Coupe on here the other day and nobody batted an eyelid. Plus people are always posting on here about getting caught for speeding. Then there is also that thread about your favourite roads. Why are they your favourites, for sight seeing? I don't think so, more likely for driving fast on.....
I know this is a little different but I find it a little hypocritical.....

Please don't take this tooooo seriously :P

Flame retardant baseball cap firmly in place (backwards of course )

grrr...

We should plan a full on assault on that board one day. Its people like that that mean I have to pay £1600 for my insurance and its dick heads like that which make the UK Police Force plant speed camera's every 100 feet where I live.

We should find out who the moderator of the board is and send him some flak.

Naming your favourite road to drive swiftly (but within the law, your honour!) is one thing, but driving down the motorway without your lights on to avoid to plod is another!

Perhaps this lad thinks he is Automan?

I am very, very, worried that I may meet some of these psychos on the road. These are the sort of idiots that will cause all of us to be legislated off the roads. This is exactly the reason why I despise most RS Turdos and Cosworths. I'm sorry Mike, it is nothing against you, or your car, but the image, and the average driver. In fact, I would quite like to see your car, as you seem to have your head screwed on properly and I do appreciate TRUE power. After all, a real 400bhp is my goal for my car, but I will not be able to get anywhere near that with morons like this pumping up my insurance, and turning the Gvt against us.

Sorry if I have offended anyone.

I agree to a certain extent with what you are saying, but you have to realise that the average RS owner is aged bewteen 18-25. The average Scooby owner is 23-50.... .

Accordingly the "macho posturing" is not unusual in that age range. However, we were all young once and have all done silly, irresponsible things. Some of us keep more quiet about it than others......! By the way StevenRW just likes to drive fast and races anyone and everything. Don't forget Scottish roads have more sheep than cars on them. But what would you do - get banned for a year or do a runner (if you thought you could get away with it)?

However, I tend to spend more of my time on the board with the grown ups on....

Blow-dog, I assume that is full-comp? Mine is £1200 TPF&T. Why? Because of those IDIOTS! If I wanted full-comp, I'd need to stump up £2800. Lovely.

Problem is, an attack isn't going to change their ways, but at least it'll let us let off steam. I'll join you.

Not everyone between 18-25 has to indulge in macho posturing. I don't. (Usually )

Hey Beef,

How old are you? My mate has managed to get a quote for a WRX fully comp for about £1300. He is 23 3 years NCB and 5 years license with 6 points (sp30 x2 damn careless if you ask me ). Do you want me to get the no. for you?

Cheers mate.

Problem is, I'm 20, and it's on a MKIIIT Soop with only 1 years NCB. I think that may be the problem . And I'm only a month into my new policy anyway.

Thanks though.

Beef,
Ok mate, just drop me a line if you ever need the no. in future. They (sorry I've forgotten the brokers name ) appear to be quite good on most decent cars.

I paid 1300 TPTF on a VW MK1 Golf GTi when I was 18 (no NCB license for 12 months) it still makes me wince to think about it

All these RS's can't last forever, they are Fords after all! They will all rust into nothing in the next few years, and the spotty oiks (Mr Rainbird excepted!) will have to grow up and become interested in girls or something. The they can all run threads on how many birds they sh****d last week, which seems to be about their level.

Then the roads will be safe, there will be no more war....................

I can only add my disgust to that of everybody else. Whilst I accept that most of us drove too fast (occasionally) in the past, there can be no excuse for the type of bragging & Bullsh*t that those "people" practise. You only have to see many of these RS cars on the road to see that they practise what they preach only too often. You can see that Ford were justified in ceasing production of such cars years ago. The sooner we see the back of them, the better.....

While I don't agree with what is being said on the RS board it's the people posting that you should be disgusted with not the cars.
I met Mike R and a few other RS owners last week and they were all nice, well adjusted people who just happen to drive an RS. Driving a Scooby doesn't make you a better driver and driving an RS doesn't make you a tosser. Book, cover, judge, blah, blah, blah,

Well said Mark C!

Of course, it also follows that just because he's a nice, well adjusted guy doesn't make the last generation car he drives any good, eh Mike R!

I don't believe how foolish these people are, not just for driving so recklessly but for bragging about it on the net! Do they think their bbs is private? Don't they realise how publicly (worldwide) they are bragging about their stupidity? I am sure that people in authority have a nose around these kinds of forums to gather 'intelligence' - why give the anti-car brigade the evidence they need, why give Panorama their next 'documentry'?

It makes my blood boil etc etc.

Thumbs down

Sadly this proves the insurance companies' statistics to be true.

I was lucky, when I was 19 everything was in black and white, smoking was good for you we all eat plenty of fibre (though we didn't know it) and Lotus Cortinas were beyond the reach of your average tit.

No wait a minute, average **** were out of my reach, in fact all .....

Ooops sorry lost the plot a bit there. Nobody of this sort of age group could possibly afford to buy and insure a fast car in my teens, who is underwriting them now?

Oh yes, I blame the parents.
