Hi just wanted to ask if there is anywhere with a definitive "checklist"of things to look out for when buying a scoob 2nd hand?
*I did have an EVO mag buyers guide but my 5yr old decided to use it to block our loo!!!
Any advice gladly accepted..
engine noises that might be unusual etc.. (det' etc..)as Ive read the theory but never spent enuff time near one to know for sure..
(and yes I know about having a matching VIN no' and V5 chassis no'!!! )

I would definately recommend the newish Haynes "You and Your Subaru Impreza Turbo - Buying, Enjoying, Maintaining and Modifying the Subaru Impreza" book. Its got just about everything you could ever want to know about the model history of the Impreza so it will help you pick the right one for you. Cost around £16 and is full of info. Pitty Nitto gets referred to as Nino as it looks like he had a fair bit of input in the book.
Infact I would recommend it to all owners and potential owners out there. Happy reading and driving.

John/Megastream; nope.
https://www.hpicheck.com/cgi-bin/wrapper.pl?session=5ce03b6d8c757023772b2969c07150d b&template=gurantee.htm
Copy and paste it in an you should be able to the HPI T&C page.
HPI only covers a car once its in the UK.
Plus you have to be able to provide the VIN and VRM which you need to see in person... bit of an **** if you want to check out a car in Scotland! (4hrs drive away for me!!)
AND to top it off, the hpi checks are only guaranteed up to £10,000 .. so if you are unlucky and buy before you get a check you could lose a lot of money..
having said that I will be using one when the time arises..
moral is: do it BEFORE any money changes hands.

HPI check. HPI check. HPI check.
There was a thread earlier saying that a chap's car had been reposessed... HPI check.
Take someone mechanically minded and scoob minded if you have one to hand

Chrome,
It's Evo number 028 (February 2001). It's a very long article!!! Don't think my typing speed would allow me to do it under 3 days!!!! If you mail me your address I'd be happy to drop a photocopy in the post.
Best wishes,
Steve.

I think you have started in the right place. You can get all the info you want from the guys and girls here.
Only advice I can give you is to get the best you can afford.
I did and don't regret it.
What sort of Scoob are you looking for?
