Question

Has anyone who has had the PPP fitted actually got the parts that were replaced (i.e. exhaust) returned to them?

I didn't, but I have read that others got their old parts back (except ECU).

Is the PPP sold on a new for old basis or are the dealers doing something dodgy. If they do keep the old ecu does this then get remapped & sold to another punter or put in there spares bin.

ECU's are on an exchange basis, you get somebody elses reprogrammed one.
It's not like ECU's have any wear characteristics and its all under warranty anyway

When i had my MY00 PPP'd at Prodrive they offered me my exhaust back if i wanted it (as it was a large item, all the other items that were replaced were given back to me) so hope that helps

I was allowed to watch my PPP being fitted and each stage was explained, plus the setup, and I was told what parts were mine to keep and which (only the ECU), was going back.

That's cool. Would of liked to have watched mine being fitted.

What garage did you get yours fitted?

Cool

I asked for the 3 bits of the exhaust back. They looked at me a bit funny though but at the end of the day they didn't give any sort of discount for wanting to keep something that you can sell for a couple of hundred pounds.
I expect that they would sell it on for not far off brand new prices if you didn't get it back!

It was SG Petch in Richmond; excellent dealer, but I guess the North East's a bit far to come! Good, friendly garage with no crap. The Service Manager even rang up to see how I was once, as he'd heard I was ill. Nice... :-)

Cheers

Mike
