Having been to the motorshow in the NEC, I noticed that this year it wasnt the Subaru's of this world that were getting the most attention. The car in my mind which certainly attracted the most attention was the new Golf.... the R32.
Now who would change their Subaru for one ? That is the question. I have to say I thought it looked lovely. Its just a pity it wasnt a little quicker.

I totaly agree, it is a very nice looking car, but the performance isnt good enough to justify changing my scooby for it. Besides for the price I`d rather have an sti7.

Are the Police giving a ticket to the turntable - for going too fast?? Also, what the hell is that stick thing attached to the front wheel?? Some kind of modern tyre pressure guage??

I think they are in the region of 22k ! Would also like to say that I didnt think much of the new Subaru. I had seen pictures of it previous to the show and my initial impression was that it didnt look tooooo bad, but when I saw it in the flesh I have to say, it sucks !

I think that its well nice, i've always liked Mk4 golfs. I'd like to have a test drive in one just out of curiosity (although i was disappointed with my sisters VR6). I'd consider one if i was looking for something a bit more subtle.

Hi guys, just popped over from the sxoc bb.
Have to say I had a MK2 Golf and still quite like them, but this thing was a little, errr, bloated and yes, they're 22k!
Motor Show was quite good, not amazing for me as there was no GTR's and no 350Z but hey, got a drink off the TVR boys and a guided tour of their stand and had a sit in their new 350. Lovely motor but the door locks packed up and we (me and the girl) had a battle to get out! My boss had 2 TVR's and reliabilty isn't the best, cue exhaust falling off and windows leaking, fixed by TVR with some Mastick!
Then I used the TVR hospitality invitation to blag my way onto the Noble stand and drool over the M12 GTO That's what I'd have I reckon.
Anyway, back over to the sxoc I go, laters guys.

I cant stand golfs and the following they get, people think the cars are summat special but hey that beast looks better than any standard bugeye and lets face it if they were side by side would you pick the scoob, think not.
Anyway would i swop me old shape for that no,cos there is something special about driving the scoob, seeing people look at you and watching them saying look impreza and thinking yeah mate and its mine. Golfs will never get that attention.

VW have lost the plot.... The old Golf GTIs MKI or IIs were the daddies. All the new MKs are fat, bloated with too little BHP. Hmmm wait a minute isn't the MY03 Scoob even heavier than the MY02? OH NO! It's happening to Subaru
Jim
PS Only kidding I love my MY02 Bugsy despite what everyone else thinks

I think these look stunning, it's so much more than "just another golf".
It's a 3.2 litre engine from the VW phaeton FFS! The body kit looks great, all in all yes it's good.
...but it isn't quite what I want at the mo
