What a blast,

Went down to Donnington on friday (25th) rained all morning and then dried up at lunch. Nice to see Docjock down there flying round.

For my first time I think I did reasonably well 1m 34s was my best lap time, how does this compare? It'd be interesting to see.

Got some awesome footage of my car against some real brutes.

Sample lineup 2x500+ bhp Escort cossies, 360 modena 911 turbo, GT2 Maserati 3200GT BMW M5 Escort Turbo Diesel?

The bit where we catch the 360 down pit straight and then take him round the following bend is probably my groundhog day, or was it not letting the Audi RS4 get away, or seeing and filming the Maserati driver Blow something as we went for it.

I couldn't believe the difference between the car in the wet and dry, very very UNPREDICTABLE in the WET but incredible in the DRY, the tyres and testament to that fact.

I even had the guy in the 911 turbo come over and ask what the hell is in that thing. Possibly due to me doing 135mph coming down to the chicane before pit lane and OUTBRAKING him in a cloud of brake dust. hehehehe. (cheers falkland the DS2500's do work)

Is yours a UK STi7? Has it been modded at all?

135mph on that straight is very decent

It has been modified and is warrantied/bought through a UK dealer as a UK Sti however it very much isn't standard. Wonder if I'd have gone any faster with one person in and no leather Satnav mars bars coke cans etc etc.

If you want the spec of the car i'll post it.

Have you been to donnington yourself?

I've been to Donington several times. Never managed much more than 120mph down that straight and that was with a MY97 PPP car.

Haven't tried it yet in my STi7, but would like to very soon

Out of interest did you check your speedo down the Craner Curves?

I didnt but it was at least 6000 rpm in 4th whatever that is.

The most tricky bend I thought was just after craner where it turns right up the hill (past the plane) where you drift to the right I finally managed to go through there at 80mph according to my instructor (Charles Hollins)

We had a great race for 5 laps against a Cooper S Racing mini on slicks, he was really really ticked off when we got past him and started pulling away (albeit it gently) oh what a day!!!

Very impressive!

So you still have a standard exhaust then? Any mods to power?

The exhaust isn't standard back box and centre section. Power is about 300bhp and 284 lbsft. Driveability is amazing the quickshift really helps you keep the engine buzzing, the intake has also been modified along with nearly (a long story) Samco everything. The Samco induction pipe seems to make quite a difference.
