HELP!

I want to buy a second hand Mongoose full exhaust system which is currently on a '98 model (UK version). My Scooby is an STI V. Ltd 97 P model (Import) - do you reckon it will fit mine???

I'm really interested in this so I need to be sure it'll fit.

Cheers everyone,

Scott

PS. Does anybody know how good the sound & power output is from the Mongoose?

scott -

Just had the full Mongoose system on mine, I bought it second hand and apart from taking 3 hours to get the old downpipe off ( ), the garage had no problems fitting the new exhaust.

Noise wise, it's slightly deeper and throatier then my old STI exhaust, but more than bearable on the motorway. Power wise, I'll know more after tomorrow, but the turbo pickup is much earlier and you can actually *just* hear the turbo spooling up and down, which is fun.

Thumbs up

Cheers lads for the advice.

Hopefully I'll get a good deal on a secondhand one - if anyone knows someone selling a Mongoose system could you let me know please.

Thanks!

Scott

Scott,

First thing I did after I picked up my STi 5 was put a mongoose on it w/ downpipe. The output went up 49 bhp I think (from 258 - 307 bhp). It sounds great and looks the biz

Good choice

Kev

I have a Mongoose full decat system. I had it fitted because the sound was just right for me. A deep throaty sound without being too noisy. I can hear the turbo spooling up from about 2K revs. The car definitely feels more powerfull and with much better acceleration. Only problem I've encoutered is tailpipe is very close to the bumper and has melted it a tiny bit. Hardly noticable though.
Oh, and I get better fuel economy too, about an extra 40 miles per tank, but I suppose you'd get that with any freeflow exhaust.

Scott,

You sure yours is an STi5? Mine is Jan 99 on an S plate - I didn't think they made 5's that early?

Just wondering...
