Must be doing SOMETHING wrong!!?!??!
I've had my 93WRX now for about 3 months, and am getting used to driving it. I mean, I can get the short sharp bursts of injection, and the long trailing burts over the complete rev range. I've also by accident fried a bit of my clutch at a junction, with the lovely hint of burning in the cabin..
....still can't do one thing though...
... how do you guys get your 0-60 times. I mean, what actual driving steps do you go through, as in rev changes, revs at the starting position, knowing when to change??
Could someone please help?!?!?!??!
Want to see what the car can really do!!!

Same car here mate. Rev it up to 4000-5000 rpm, drop or slip the clutch. When it reaches 6000 rpm, quickly shift it into second. You should just about make it to 60 before the rev limiter cuts in. Otherwise shift in to third.
Didn't Clarkson say summat about not dragging the Lambo off the line "because it's 4WD".....never heard that one.
Over to the drivetrain experts...
That woul have been a lot neater if Chiark had posted before me..LOL

Hmmm. The *fastest* way to get off the line is to dial up about 5000 rpm, hop off the clutch smartly (not so smartly it bogs down, but not really slipping it), and hope to hell the gearbox doesn't come through the bonnet. Not something I'd recommend!
If the drivetrain is up to it, you can launch with wheelspin, just like anything else; in a standard scoob the most likely thing is a lot of clutch slip - less revs help here.
You don't see WRC cars 'trickling it off the line, then planting it' do you - I reckon the lambo should have been a *lot* faster initially. It's more down to how much you want to abuse the car.

The best way I find is too bring up your revs to about 3000-35000rpm, just at the point where your turbo would normaly kick in then slip\ride the clutch a bit while progessively increasing the throttle. This needs a bit of practice but if you get it right it seems to give a nice take off as the turbo spins up quickly as you are right near it's spool up point but doesn't feel as harsh on the car.
This still does your clutch in somewhat but I bet it isn't as harsh as a full bore 6000rpm launch on the clutch or your gearbox and diffs. It certainly feels a lot kinder. Seems like a good compromise to get a decent launch without knackering things too much.
