Question

Witnessed an accident this morning.. car turns right, pickup Transit turns right and the car in front of me a fiesta hits the corner of the transit and removes her wing mirror and must have dented that area of the car.. the transit stopped and got out and looked at me and the fiesta had already driven off... I pointed up the road but wasn't until afterwards that I thought he might have thought it was me!!!! caught her up and took down the reg... wondering if I should report it.. no real damage to his transit as it was solid rusty pick up bed she hit.

Slightly worried the transit driver might have taken my reg and thought it was me..

I was lucky I managed to reverse up a bit and had kept a reasonable distance behind the fiesta as she reversed off the transit towards me.. and she wasn't looking...

Well, let's hope that the transit driver doesn't lose his job because his boss assumes he crashed the van himself.

JGM, glad to here that!!

its still illegal though.
and she also couldnt be sure of that, without her getting out to inspect it!!!

it will also stop her making a fraudulent insurance claim, if she says it was done in a carpark or something....

nice one!!

u should report it 2 cover ur own a$$

but also cos if this was someone who hit you and driven off wouldnt u want to get their reg no.

aint it an offence to leave an accident scene, therefore the police should be interested

JGM it was easy to prove it was'nt you. You still have your wing mirror and a fiesta wing mirror is very different.

I was honestly busy.. and have only been on here today in reply to posts etc.. also there is a couple of people at work I don't like knowing my business, so usually wait until they leave at 3:30 to use the phone..

just rang and reported it.. the officer took the details and was grateful for the information.. so if the transit reports it then the details I gave will be passed on..

Also took my phone number and name and address which always worries me that I might get come backs from it.. but I did my bit..

She looked more of a nervous woman than driving with out insurance etc.. but she still shouldn't have done it..
