Only had my scoob 7 months MY99UK modified, and i pick up a brand new tt tommorrow.

Am sad and excited and cant quite put my finger on why i did not gel with the scoob.
I think it is because with todays busy roads and the scoobs high limits of grip and traction you just cant get your kicks on a daily basis. So when you are in traffic as always you are stuck in a low rent interior.

The scoob is so evective it is dangerous on modern roads all in mho.

I paid almost 28k for the tt and some of you may ask why didnt you buy a sti ppp. but i assume they are even more efective etc.

What i will miss is the fiendly waves, the chat on this bbs and that dugga, dugga, flat four noise and pace.

Flame suit is on, but be kind as i will still be a regular on here.

Good luck with the TT... I'm not sure about the handling of the TT, but they are definitely worth chipping. Should be able to get ~275bhp for little money.

Yoza,

Brand new Coupe in brilliant black, black leather. 18inch 9 spokes, bose 6 speaker 4 amp 175 watt ice and 6cd changer.

Test drive was fatal, not as quick as my scoob but comparable with it when it was standard. But interior soooooooo nice. Originally went in to drive an S3 which was ok but not special enough.

Handling issue does not bother me to much. God i am getting old!

You may feel your getting old,but a car like that will shed at least 10 years off you.

A friend has one as a company car (lucky twit)dont know much about them but theres a fast one at 220ps and a slower one,his is the faster one and is quite impressive,as you say they are something else inside the cabin.

Warning.......this car has improved his success with the ladeez 10 fold so be careful out there

No flames

Very good choice in my opinion, as with most German cars the build and finish are superb.

Get the ecu and exhaust done and you will enjoy it even more

Best o' luck.

Well, I had the fortune of borrowing my Pa's MY02 TT with the same kit as yours, and i was totally smitten. Its just a fantastic car. Theres no point comparing it to a scoob, as they are totaly different beasts. The TT is simply a pleasure to sit in, and drive, and i got laid because of it. Don't reckon ytou could say that about a scoob

Good luck with the new car mate, a TT is about number 5 out of the other cars almost able to drag me out of a Scoob too, the others being as follows:

Jaguar XKR - Hopefully soon to be realised!
Porsche 911 Turbo
Audi RS4/6

Sounds lurvelee too so put some pics up when you get them. I saw a silver one with red leather today - looked mint!

You guys are all so nice

Rottie wants a flaming

TT = Poseurs ponce mobile .
Will undoubtably become a gay icon (fine if your gay!) a la VW Sharoco (sorry can't spell and no I'm not homophobic before someone climbs on their high horse, just making a point!)

Handling joke! nuff said
2 seats and a silly rear.

Sqwashed beetle, poor mans boxter....

Is their a club? never heard of it?

Sell it quick before the public wake up and second hand prices crash and get another proper car £28,000 buys you STI7 with cash to upgrade the stereo if thats your bag.

Joking mate...
A very attractive and beautifully made bit of kit. I seriously considered it instead of my STI7. Rear seats, boot size and on the limit handling changed my mind but it was close!
Enjoy your car, its a good one.

Wink

When I was first over in Germany a year or so ago the wife and I decided to hire a TT 225bhp for a weekend as Europcar over here do special offers from time to time, I must admit I thought the interior was stunning, BOSE stereo excellent, the car was quick and felt quicker at topend than my old MY99, I dont how the torque compares but the TT felt like it had more, the car was thoroughly capable but lacked the feel of the Impreza, plus nowadays the TT and SLK alike are not the rare cars they once were, they are common as muck especially out here in DE and you can pick um up for silly money but I still would not buy one.
My newish MY01 WRX in Sti guise stands out like a sore thumb out here and no-one really knows what it is and how capable it is, I love having a play with the boring rep mobiles, beemers, mercs and silly boyracers.
I have had the car about 4 months now and not seen another 1 yet on the road out here in Germany but I like that, I know you cant say the same about it back in the UK, god I have no-one else to wave to , hey the cars even more exclusive than when I was driving the VX out here in the summer!
Its a shame the Germans dont know what there missing but I wont tell them as I want to keep the secret all to myself!
All I need now is a bit more top end grunt and i will be happy, oh and then some new brakes, suspension....

Regards,

John.

I haven't checked your profile but I guess its a good choice if you are a girl

My wife has one and loves it. Its well built, the interior is well finished and there are some nice touches. For my tastes it just isn't quite sharp enough in any department, but then again, look at what I drive!

Hope you enjoy it.

I'd have to disagree with Beef'. You DO get laid driving a Scooby, it's just their guide dogs make such a mess of the car.

If it's what you want, then good luck to you. Enjoy it.

Be interesting to know what the TT handling is like though, as I've yet to hear someone be enthusiastic about anything more than it's looks. The odd owners I've spoken to say it can be very skitish on 18".

Problem with UK TTs is the price. I'd rather get a Leon R @ 18K on the road (220BHP, 18 inch wheels, Recaros, A/C, CD) and a Lupo Gti to do the shopping in... comes to around the same price as a TT.

They should have run a campaign here that went something like: 'want to pay twice what we do in Germany, then you must be in the UK'

Cool

I don't see why anyone should flame you... after all, you chose to buy a TT, so you will have to live with it!

Careful ad McDonalds drivethroughs, try not to order any large drinks that won't fit through the pretty little windows.
