Unhappy

hi all

recently got a MY99 silver turbo. dealer should have had paint chips sorted before i collected the car but couldn't have it done in time.
to cut a long story short it has been back twice and i am still not happy with the colour match. if this had been done before i collected the car i would not have driven it away.it is on a rear door just below the handle and covers about 10 sq. inches and sticks out like a dogs ***** in certain natural lighting.
my dilema is that this is as good as the "paint wizard" could do. would i get a better colour match in their body shop or should i just live with it? how big an area would a body shop have to spray to blend this blemish in?
any help would be appreciated as i know nothing about paint work
cheers

colin

If it was an agreed part of the deal, then they should either keep spraying it until you're happy, or pay for someone else to sort it for you. Either way it's their problem.

Thought for such a size its best doing the whole skin to avoid such problems.
Best bet is to get them to spray the whole door. It will then be quite difficult to spot colour differences across ajoining panels unless they have really screwed up.

Silver is a b*tch of colour to match, if you were to go to a paint supplier, you would probably find that there are 4-5 maybe more shades to the same colour!

agree with the other person that silver must be the hardest colour to match, your best off spraying the whole door and halfway up the upright for a good blend/match.Even then its possible to spot.
Had this prob with my old silver scoob
