Am I Mad ???

Here Here....
I'm a director......currently run a Mercedes E class......
Moving jobs......getting a UK300 (Saturday) and will travel 20k + miles per year just in the job..then 10k private...30k per year.
I've got the car for three years....PPP and all that + Fuel Card
I wake up at night thinking...what have I done...should I have got a BMW or something...then smile cos I've always wanted a scooby.
Tell me I'm not going mad?
I know the residual after 30k a year will be silly but hey?

The residuals are going to be silly whatever you buy with that predicted mileage, so just enjoy the journey

If you're going to do 30k a year (I did last year) then you need something like a Scoob to keep you sane because (a) it livens up a dull journey and (b) enables you to overtake the other idiots.

Nearly 3 years ago I was given the opportunity to try a turbo - was then on company BMW. One try & I was hooked !! No it isn't a comfort car but it is a joy to drive and a real driver's car so enjoy !!
Recently opted out of company car scheme due to tax changes due next April - went and bought a P1. You only live once!!

Cheer up, Jason.
I'm driving an Escort (look where I'm from before you condemn me - they're held in trust for us in the Town Hall, you ahev to drive one to be allowed in the County...) and decided recently to get a new car.
However, due to cashflow issues, I've got to wait 2-3 months before I can get it.
HAVE YOU ANY IDEA WHAT THAT IS LIKE!?!?
ENJOY THE CAR (and the club that goes with it - how many BMW driver's bbs boards are there...)
Anyway, here's to my MY97 or MY98 and a grin the size of Cheshire come Christmas. Oh, and anyone who sees a good MY97 or MY98 for around the £10,000-£10,500 mark, let me know.

Hi Jason,
Well ive given up my company car AND my free petrol card to get a UK300 with PPP as well!
The money from my company pays for the car and about 1/2 my insurance, but I'm going to have to pay for the rest of insurance, private fuel, servicing etc which I reckon will cost me £150-200 a month.
But I thought what the hell, I have the opportunity to get something Ive always wanted so go for it. I dont think Im mad, but I do try not to think about residuals.
We should count ourselves luckly that our cars are funded by our jobs, as I know some people struggle very hard to keep their beloved scoobs.
Just get out and enjoy your UK300 as much as possible
