Having never had a new car before now, and considering de-catting the exhaust, I was wondering when my first MOT will be due.
Car originally purchased May '99. Will it be due in May 2002 or May 2003 ??

Jeepers! All you guys that have never had to MoT a car. I've never had my own car that has been less than 3 years old.
The first MoT is due 3 years from the date the car was registered from new.

Thanx for the replies, Gents.
Better start talking the missus into letting me get the exhaust done then...
Jerome - This is my first NEW car, all my previous ones have been MOT'd all the time. Best one being my TR7V8....
Tester: "Fails on emissions, mate".
Squizz: "But I'm running it rich, coz its a new engine (Blatant lie)"
Tester: "Oh, fair enough then."
RESULT!
Wonder if that'll work with the scoob...

There is another option which I am more likely to take :
G - Sell it (end of 2002) for an MY03 without the dodgy lights (hopefully)
