ive got 512k NTL broadband and for some reason the pages take a while to come up every now and again, more often than not.
It just seems to be scoobynet for some reason.
dont want to make this sound like a complaint - its not, this is a totally wicked site and i am a totally addicted scoobynet member, just ask the missus .....
....but im curious to see if im the only one
cheers

I use PIPEX ADSL 512Kbps.
Also noticed today bit sloooooow. Certainly not flying the way it normally does.
Maybe needs an oil and filter change?

I'm on 600kb on ntl cable ( its been upgraded but they didn't tell us) and it is slow tonight. Popular site, the server cannot keep up with the demand, frustrating innit? Broadband only works if the rest of the system can keep up.

its slow sometimes and not others. You'll wait 2mins for a thread, and then page 2 loads instantly when you click on it...
Depends how many people are using things such as search i spose

Harry_Boy: how do you get a 1Mb connection??? Ours has only just been uprated (without telling us!) to 600kb.
Scoobynet varies here. Slow 8 'till 11 pm, sometimes slow to upload a reply, then, the next one uploads instantly.
Wish I'd been able to do computer studies at school, I might understand them then!

Isn't it a problem with the BBS software? I'm sure Simon replied to a similar thread a few weeks back saying it was getting looked at.
It is damn annoying, especially when you've got broadband

It is in need of a PPP
I often open another browser session, go and read a few threads on one of the other boards, make a coffee, say goodnight to the dog and throw the wife out (I must concentrate on getting that right), come back to find the thread I had opened isn't worth reading anyway.

Well if the mods would listen to me - i have offered to host it on a dedicated 2mbit conenction and a decent server.
ok so they would have to host a banner ad for free for the hosting company concerned - big deal huh.
as it stands now, it's unusable even during they day never mind evenings..

Its like pushing treacle up hill with a fork. About as much fun as someone swapping your Scoob engine for a 50cc lump from a lawnmower.
Mutter, grumble, go read some newsgroups, see if there's owt new on JapanParts.... more muttering. Wake me up when its working.

Hi Alcazar,
Just read your note Mate - I should check more often really....
We upgraded to the 1Mb NTL connection about five months ago. It was £50 per month, up from £25 for the 512 (now 600) service, but what a difference - especially in upload speeds.
And I see that they're quoting it at just £35 per month on www.ntl.com now. Must talk to them in the morning about a refund :0)
Cheers, HB.
