The word on the street has always indicated that the redesign would be carried out by Prodrive & Peter Stevens.

Now I thought that Peter Stevens had left Prodrive while ago to become the chief designer of MG Group.

Still it has been maintained that Peter Stevens has had a hand in the redesign.

Now, does anyone know, it this true, and if so has Peter Stevens returned to Prodrive?

Or has Andreas Zapatinas, the new head designer at Subaru, had a hand in the redesign?

Had read in one of the motoring magazines that this new design was penned when the bug eye first came out, also heard that there will be an all new Impreza in 2006.

The steering wheel in the STi is the bit Prodrive got pretty much blank sheet authority on, and the aero improvements were worked on as a collab effort (Subaru, STi, Prodrive), therefore no Prodrive version.

It should be noted that it is pre-Zapatinas, too.

Yea, what Turkish said is correct, there will be another all new impreza in 2006, and the designer is some guy who used to be head of design (or something similar) at Ferrari. I am really not sure who designed the MY03??

I thought it was Stevie Wonder, who I believe also designed the MY01, having given up a "successful" pop career.

Since the MY03 has been christened the blobeye, obviously it was designed by Mr Blobby.......

AND, now I realise the pink spots on Mr Blobby were almost exactly the same shade as STi pink......hmmm, it's all falling into place

Zapatinas (spelling?) is ex-Alfa Romeo I believe. So no chance of curing the rattling dash then.

So Subarus have the Alfa-Romeo influence, the Nissans have a heavy Renault influence, AHH the europeans are taking over!!! Why don't they just leave the Japanese cars alone, they are two contrastng styles and they really should be kept seperate.

I don't think Peter Stevens ever worked for Prodrive, like in a 'permie' capacity. I think he used to work freelance, as well as running the car design course at RCA. Now he is employed as head of design at MG Rover, but his contract probably doesn't exclude him from continuing to do freelance work.

Peter Stevens is not only responsible for the design of the UK300 spoiler, which by the way is plain ugly

But he is also reponsible for the exterior design of the 22B, P1, most of the Impreza WRC cars and so on.......

Andreas Zapatinas is hopefully busy with the designing of the new SVX.
