I hit a bird on teh A21 at 5am one morning... I was going 70... it smashed my foglight cover and I watched it break up in my rearview mirror....
was a bit sad, first animal I'd hit in 15years of driving.... plus it took me weeks to get rid of it totally.

bouncing off the rev limiter in 5th at 152?, in my modded S13 200sx (230bhp). On a private road cuz it'd be illegal to do it on the M8 or the A9
Haven't topped to scoob out yet but don't think it'll even get close (still standard 94 wrx wagon thats probably struggling to produce the stated 220bhp).

I once hit a pheasant at 90 in my Xantia.
Blood and feathers everywhere, but I was surprised to see no damage to the car when I stopped.
Next time I cleaned it, I noticed that the o/s headlight was loose, so I took the grille off for a better look.
The headlight mounting at the base was sheared off, and there was a pheasant's leg attached to the radiator...........done to a turn!:
Alcazar.
No, I didn't sample it, it was 3 weeks later!

Had my MY99 Tek3'd here in Holland last week by the local franchisee. (massive improvement btw)
For what it's worth he said the ecu cuts boost to 0.5bar at a pre-determined speed. This would almost certainly cause the car to stop accelerating, given the relatively poor aerodynamics. My car was limited to 237 kmh (148mph), which he upped by 10kmh to a healthy 247 (154mph).
Whether or not the car will actually do this I can't tell you (yet).
Once saw 235 (147mph) on the clock on the A81 heading north into Stuttgart on a coolish day last August. Felt very stable but was wasn't acceleratng anymore.

At Elvington at 1.25 mls last monthin the top 10 shoot-out Tim W did 166mph and Plantie had 163mph through the timing gear.
The recall on my micro processor shows 161mph which will be very accurate but I have not been flat out yet. Standard speedo can be out by 6-11% depending on model, wheels and tyre combination.

As regards the speed, the instruments in the back where in Russian/Metric
I asked the pilot, that’s what he reckoned, he may have been wrong or I may have misunderstood, we had just lost 5000 or so feet.

Hehe Paul, you thinking of getting one? Its only about 30-50k with a permit to fly. I'm tempted as these things don't break down as much as a scooby, but then again anything don't break as much as a scooby.
