I've got mine (my01) of the clock, and it only had the prodrive pack, this was in Italy of course.

The Zohan 30 September 2002 05:54 PM

162 Scoob
160 Calibre Turbo
155+ Honda Civic VTI of the clock
350mph Yak 52, bottom of a steep dive then to +8G's, pulling up/out - now that's a rush!

All aboard or on private roads/in the air

TonyBurns 30 September 2002 06:38 PM

Off the clock in the scoob  but works out about 167mph (autobahn :D)

Tony:D

Nat 30 September 2002 06:45 PM

170ish mph. Not a scoob, and thats all i'm telling ya :p

Markus 30 September 2002 06:48 PM

140, germany, unrestricted autobahn.

Of course I'd never do over 70 on the A21 ;)

Dave P 01 October 2002 07:16 PM

I hit a bird on teh A21 at 5am one morning... I was going 70... it smashed my foglight cover and I watched it break up in my rearview mirror....

was a bit sad, first animal I'd hit in 15years of driving.... plus it took me weeks to get rid of it totally.

Test drove a UK300 and I can confirm they can do 300mph ;).

Flyboy-F33 01 October 2002 08:18 PM

160 (and rising) in a Nissan 300ZX Not in the UK though

HKSubaru 01 October 2002 08:20 PM

mines off the clock on 0 revs! but then again my clock is knackered now.

marty_t3 01 October 2002 08:24 PM

bouncing off the rev limiter in 5th at 152?, in my modded S13 200sx (230bhp). On a private road cuz it'd be illegal to do it on the M8 or the A9 :D

Haven't topped to scoob out yet but don't think it'll even get close (still standard 94 wrx wagon thats probably struggling to produce the stated 220bhp).

scooby_xt_turbo 01 October 2002 08:25 PM

280km/h in a lightened twin turbo golf mk3 VR6 in greece. the road that this was achieved is a 60km-40mile stretch with no speed cameras as 99% of greek roads. :)

alcazar 01 October 2002 10:31 PM

I once hit a pheasant at 90 in my Xantia.
Blood and feathers everywhere, but I was surprised to see no damage to the car when I stopped.
Next time I cleaned it, I noticed that the o/s headlight was loose, so I took the grille off for a better look.
The headlight mounting at the base was sheared off, and there was a pheasant's leg attached to the radiator...........done to a turn!:D:
Alcazar.
No, I didn't sample it, it was 3 weeks later!

Had my MY99 Tek3'd here in Holland last week by the local franchisee. (massive improvement btw)

For what it's worth he said the ecu cuts boost to 0.5bar at a pre-determined speed. This would almost certainly cause the car to stop accelerating, given the relatively poor aerodynamics. My car was limited to 237 kmh (148mph), which he upped by 10kmh to a healthy 247 (154mph).

Whether or not the car will actually do this I can't tell you (yet).

Once saw 235 (147mph) on the clock on the A81 heading north into Stuttgart on a coolish day last August. Felt very stable but was wasn't acceleratng anymore.

Dr Nick 02 October 2002 07:26 AM

Had the Matiz up to nearly 80 the other morning......

Now there's a sensation of speed. ;)

harvey 03 October 2002 01:42 AM

At Elvington at 1.25 mls last monthin the top 10 shoot-out Tim W did 166mph and Plantie had 163mph through the timing gear.
The recall on my micro processor shows 161mph which will be very accurate but I have not been flat out yet. Standard speedo can be out by 6-11% depending on model, wheels and tyre combination.

harvey 03 October 2002 01:47 AM

PS Skyline 196 mph at 1.25 mls on same day.

STi-Frenchie 03 October 2002 06:15 AM

70kmph in a Renault Twingo on a test track under supervision :)

grovesy 03 October 2002 08:42 AM

160mph + In a old Taxi (4x4 Saphire Cosworth)

Katana 03 October 2002 08:43 AM

A Yak 52 can go to 350 mph?? And you pulled 8gs in it? I thought they were only rated to +6g/-4g!!

Road-rash 03 October 2002 01:35 PM

sti 7 wrs back box off the clock just

rshort2210 03 October 2002 01:40 PM

stopped right outside the toilet block to change the brown trousers that appeared !

The Zohan 03 October 2002 01:41 PM

Katana

As regards the speed, the instruments in the back where in Russian/Metric
I asked the pilot, that’s what he reckoned, he may have been wrong or I may have misunderstood, we had just lost 5000 or so feet.

Paulo P 03 October 2002 04:52 PM

Indicated 240kph on my integrale but thats when the clock runs out :( that was when it was standard too :D

Katana 03 October 2002 04:55 PM

Hehe Paul, you thinking of getting one? Its only about 30-50k with a permit to fly. I'm tempted as these things don't break down as much as a scooby, but then again anything don't break as much as a scooby. :D
