Unhappy

Why does my '98 turbo have an annoying rattle when I drive it with the seat backs down to allow long objects to poke through?
Sounds as though the bootlid is not shut properly, but I've checked, and it is.

No, mine doesn't squeak, it's a definite "clonky" rattle. Just like the noise the boot makes when it shuts, that's why I thought it wasn't shut properly.
I cant replicate the noise with the car at rest, so I guess my youngest gets to travel in the back with one of the seat backs down, and try and find the rattle tonite!

Does the MY98 have a jack in one of the side panels of the boot?.
My MY96 does, after I used the jack I didn't tighten it up enough so it made a metal to metal klonging noise.
Cheers.

My MY98 used to do this, it was the boot catch. It appears to 'shift' over time. Loosen the bolts, adjust and re-tighten. It should be Ok then.

Cheers guys. Off to bubble wrap the jack first, then I'll have a go at the catch if that doesn't work.
