Question

is that bright button all about! I have had MY00 now for 3 weeks (my first Scooby, impressed, boy does it go!!) and was interested by the large Bright button on the centre console, and all it does is make the small dashboard clock brighter....huh?? what a useless button, or am i missing the point?

Sorry about this topic I am sure its already been mentioned before!

Thumbs up

It turns your number plate lights up really brightly causing gatso pics to be over exposed. The dashboard clock gets brighter because of all the extra current running through the light switch

Dont diss the bright button - it has a huge following on this board & should be treated with upmost respect.

Of course respect! its just the talking (well **** take really) point with my mates down the Pub, on how crap the button is!

last time I had such a useless switch was in my Talbot Samba (954cc 0-60 18secs). It had this weird handbag holder which my dad called the choke

It's still there on the new car as well. And it makes the trip meter and outside temp LCDs brighter as well!!!

I don't understand the lights at all, you can't have them on with the engine off, but there's a seperate little switch on the steering column so that you can turn the sidelights on? Why?

Aren't they the same as sidelights though?

The old door open beepy thing seems a much better idea to me.
