Clutch Judder - Warranty replacement? Anyone managed it?
#3
I have seen many post's on here of people getting it done on the warranty. I think there might be a general milage point were they delcine to replace, which might be about 15-20K (not to sure, so don't quote me) so I would get it down to the dealer and complain asap.

I don't care whether it's classed as a 'wear and tear' item or not. If the brakes, for example, went after an unusually short time, then there's a fault, and they would have to be replaced (I had new disks and pads on my '98 at 23k)
Obviously there are limits, beyond which you'll never get the work done under warranty, but if you can show other cars that have had the work done then really haven't got a leg to stand on. Especially at such low mileage.
As suggested, try another dealer. Sounds like they just can't be bothered.

Just had mine done 3 weeks ago at 18K miles. I didn't even ask for a new one, they just told me that they would like to replace it once I mentioned I had a slight judder. (Mill Lane- Basingstoke)

Sounds hopeful.........I will be on the phone tomorrow!
Will they claim wear & tear if I say that it has got worse over the last year?
Does a new clutch fix the problem?
Why is it worse from cold?

Thought clutch judder came as standard especially when cold. On the SIDC FAQs they suggest a fast start, as if you are doing a 0-60 sprint and slip the clutch a bit. This cleans something or other - anyway works for me

got mine done at about 25000 miles and replaced with the p1 model still judders now and again on cold mornings but a i can live with it.
Before it was horrendous trying to pull away from junctions in second was impossible i would have to stop at every junction wether there was taffic or not so i could get a reasonable start wihout looking and sounding like a complete ****.
by the way Beechdale were very good pushing for the replacement from Subaru as it was out of warranty
