2002 Calender of BBS members !
#2
(Inspired by the other calendar-labelled thread)
Here's an idea (and this is about the time of year to organise it)
How about making a 2002 Scoobynet calendar, with each month of the year showing a picture of some of the car (and at a push, owners) of members of the BBS.
If particularly entrepeneurial (sp?) SdB could auction each month for charity ? (Though still obviously charging for the actual calendar)
Worth a go ?

Good idea!
We were thinking of doing a scoobynet calendar (like the EVO one from a couple of years back) but would probably have never got round to it.
What do you mean by "auction the months"?
Cheers

Well, assuming you only put one car per month on the calendar you'd be inundated with people wanting to be on it.. So you could get people to pay a token amount to charity to make sure it's their car on the calendar.

I'd buy a couple. Top idea.

(edit) You could have a wall calendar, nice big and glossy and the smaller desk version ala evo mag's. Both versions could feature moving and still shots. Moving like Sideways De Banks record succses.

The only possible problem would be the cost of producing it.
We could talk to the main scoobynet supporting companies and see if they would sponsor it though.
I think we would need to be fairly sure that a substantial number would be sold.
It is possibly something that could be sold in the shops also though??

Yup, go along with that. How about selling through Subaru dealer ships aswell?
No harm in having acceptable corporate sponsership messages and logos in the calender, bit like the banner ads just more permanent.

Top idea, why not make it a scoobyshop item, advertise it now, and say that it has to be supported at a certan level to get the project to move forward.
Surely they cant cost more than £2 to make, so £4 or something similar through the shop would virtually guarantee a profit.

Excellent idea, I'd buy a couple at least. Could it be along similar lines to the 'fireman' one? You know the one with lots of shots of hunky fireman and their hoses (not to mention helmets ) the scoobynet one could have lots of shots of all the scoobynet man-babes draped over the bonnet of their cars wielding a large spanner whilst covered in oil.....etc etc. I could get my friend to sell it at her Ann Summers parties....

It can't be too pricy- think of the (admittidly rather pants) calenders they give out for free at the chinese every year.

Scoobychick, gollocks to that. Cars, synonymous with half undressed totty, not hairy arsed firemen. (Apologies to Bladerunner).
When I had the MG years ago, one of the suppliers used to do a calendar and got his Saturday girl/receptionist, then 17/18 to get her gear off in assorted shots containing MGBs in various states of undress. I think it sold then for £5.99.
Two quid?? What sort of people are we dealing with in here?
Very much a collectors item, now where did I put them? I'll scan a month in if I can find it.......

Nimbus...
thanks for that!!!
OK..
Initial quotes for a quality job are looking at around £3000 - £4000 for the design printing, etc.
So this is not a small commitment.
I'm going to start talking to companies that specialise in calendars, etc to see what can be done through them.
The alternative is a scoobynet screen saver calendar?
Cheers

I do business with a company in Hull that purely print calendars for companies.
If you want Simon give me the details of your quote and I'll try to beat it.
Geoff
PS they may even consider short run ie 1000+, surely we could easily sell a grand of them.
