Just rang Chapelgate my local Scooby dealer and they say they have had an email from Prodrive last week saying that the PPP is further delayed until the end of october due to "More Tests" being carried out, this is really starting to **** me off

Thats only 2 weeks more than the middle of October Chill out, mellow and think happy thoughts All this Stress

But do agree a tad annoying but you won't get it fitted before it's finnished. As Confucus said LOL

Maybe this has got something to do with the new-look STi (see today's Auto Express)? Just a guess.

If the new car looks better and has more poke, I think the delayed PPP will not be the only thing upsetting bug-eyed STi owners

PPP is further delayed until the end of october
Don't believe all you hear.......it's probably one of the dealers that told people it was available back on 19 July

I found out on Saturday that my dealer will definately not have a PPP fitted to its demo car

They did say that one of there other STi customers was willing to let others use his/hers when fitted, so people can get a flavour for what it has to offer before they buy.

This scares me a little/lot, I don't particularly want to take someone elses pride and joy out for a demonstration. I would appreciate their offer, but I would never be able to truly compare with my standard STi for fear of doing something I might regret.

So, from my point of view, no dealer demo to try before I buy, no official quoted figures yet (unless I missed something), and still no definate delivery date. Always said it would do as a Xmas pressie

Cheers

Simon

IMHO

Pathetic!

Why bother to say anything.....it never gets here for real.

I suspect the real dead line is press day at the motor show, if they announce it is available at the show when it is not
I for one as an invited fleet buyer will have something to say about it very publically and loudly on their stand.

If it is not ready and they do not make noises at the show about it fair enough, I will say nothing.

In the mean time I am now considering seriously an evo7 for 03 reg
...I am beginning to see the light and it isn't blue and gold at the moment.

Yorkshire Simon....if you're talking about K T Greens....I think I might know the owner concerned ....I also think that said owner would only allow the dealer to use his (or her) car if it was covered on their own Motor Trade Insurance policy...hense making them responsible for any possible damage....(*touching wood*)...

By all means give me a call on 07798 762285 if you'd like to be put in touch with this particular owner

Tom

P.S. With the greatest of respect ...surely it makes little difference who owns the car when taking it for a test drive....I would hope that you would drive it safely whoever owned it....wouldn't you??

Personally I am not bothered if mine is fitted in 4, 5 or even 10 weeks. Its ordered and that'll do for now.

Will ring you Tom when I get the date and need the amendment.

Howsya doing Si? What have they given you? A wheel on each corner I hope.

Cool

Hi Tom

No, it wasn't K T Greens in my case. Thanks for the number for the kind chap who will let me nail his/her pride and joy

Appreciate what you say regarding trade insurance policy and all, nevertheless, I reckon that about 80%+ people wanting to try before they buy, would be uncomfortable about taking a fellow scooby owners pride and joy out for, what will inevitably be a hard blast, on a private road obviously

Ken

I'm not bad thanks, hope you are well too. Not sure I understand your question though!!! 4 wheels??? Got 12 wheels on the driveway at home now if that's what you mean!!

Cheers

Simon

Theres an easy way to simulate what the STI PPP will feel like
1. Slot it down a gear
2. Floor it
3. Imagine you are in the higher gear.

You forgot No 1 in the standard car - pull away from a standstill, get burnt off by the diesel Nissan Bluebird in the next lane to you for the first 50 yards whilst shouting "come on you ba$tard" at the STi......

I bet you ALL STi7 owners have done it

Thumbs up

Even worst is when you pull out right on a tight junction I nearly got hit by a steam roller coming the other way and an invalid carriage screaching up my backend while I am waiting for 3.8Krpm then the passengers get there necks broke by the 'G' force LOL

or we could have free clutch plates issued by IM till we get PPP LOL
