pig ugly! the lights are huge oblong things, morettes conversions for the fugly look much better than that IMHO. Whats with that bonet intercooler vent, it looks plain stupid having the top further forward than the bottom?

That looks like the nurburgring to me.

all well and good, but it does not exactly blow away the classic shape (like the bugeye did'nt).

not that i dislike it, but it looks a bit of a half arsed effort IMHO. just not ground breaking, and if any thing it adds bulk to what was, in original form a smooth and slick looking car.

fussy and trying to look like an evo i reckon.

it seems to me that as manufacturers change shapes through the various "marks," they always add bulk, why?

Without doubt, the best looking Impreza was the MY00 - the 'old' ones were a tad ugly, the bug-eye just plain UGLY and the new one looks like its a half-hearted attempt to regain the MY00 good looks and fails!

Imagine the owners of the Bugeye??? Can you even dream about the nightmare drop in values the 'Ugly Version' will see??? Look at the old ugly Ford Scorpio - its hated and unsaleable!

I personally don`t like it IMO it appears to have bi-passed any styling dept that Subaru might have and the powers that be have added what appears to be the worst in the aftermarket crap that is available these days.
A good case of "The Emporers new clothes". (morons will have to give that some thought!.

Arrived home last night to my latest copy of autocar, and there is a different write up on it to the one shown on page 1 of this thread. Its dark blue in colour and gold oz's, this one doesnt have tape over it and is a first class pic. I will bring the mag to work 2moro and attempt to post up the pictures.

The 22B is the definetive classic scoob
but the new kid on the Block is the S202 (with bugeyes ) time to move on or we will still be wearing Tank Tops or White 'n' Tarten bay City Roller gear

In fairness bugeye wasn't the best inhancement made if they'd made the WRX lighter and fitted Front & Rear Torque diffs thus improving Power to Weight and handling a lot more Classic shape owners would have moved on from MY96/8's to MY01's and not to MY00's.

After all did buy Subaru's for Looks/Paintwork/Interior/fuel economy or price LOL NO because of Handling and Power. IMHO
