Just got a warranty with the AA for MY94 scooby as long as your car is not over 10 years old and has under 100k you can take it out.
Basics if you are a member already £45 you can then claim 3 claims parts and labour £500 limit * 3 per year !
Not bad at all if you ask me and the garage just has to be VAT registered !
please help me with this post guys

Is this for real. 45 quid for a warranty. Sure its not breakdown cover? When you go on the AA site they say they do not cover impeza turbos.
My warranty runs out next week so I would def be interested. Anyone know how to get this please tell me.
Cheers

Check the below link for T&C's.
I am sure Rob can tell us more as he works for the AA and I can't find anywhere that says Impreza's are not covered as I joined last week and they didn't turn down my application at all.
Quick question for Rob, is the turbo covered if its not boosting properly ?
cheers.

this policy is called plc cover(parts and labour)it is available to all cars under 10 yrs old and up to 100,000 miles at the start of policy,in the event of a breakdown the aa we foot the bill for parts and labour apart from the £25.00 excess, all repairs will normally be done by a aa patrol or vat registered garage or aa workshops etc you can use this policy three times a year and up to £500.00 a claim, you do have to be a member to obtain this cover so if you do not have aa membership you will have the standard cost of membership as well, all in all not a bad service starting to get very popular with members of 3+yrs old vehicles(old warranties running out etc,the main thing that you do have to do is to have a receipt from a vat registered garage of your last service and you must keep it serviced at regualar manufactures rec intervials keeping your receipts which may be req in the event of a claim, hope this helps oh and the site that says that we do not cover scoobys is a warranty on the car this cover is on your membership better if you ask me,cheers rob

I joined up and specifically queried if it would cover a Forester STB (turboed 240 bhp grey). They said no problem so I joined.

Unfortunatley the £500 limit won't cover that much on a scoob

Unless of course I've read the stuff all wrong(entirely possible)

scrappy doo yes the turbo would be covered against failure at the roadside but would not be covered against age or wear i would think but i will check tommorow for you about this as it is not really a warranty just a failure policy but dont forgat scoob turbos dont cost 500 quid you would only get 500 towards the repair minus the excess still its an excellent policy covers things like starters alternators fuel pumps etc the list is endless and we all know a new alternator for 25.00 is quite a saving on the 350+retail price of these units.

Question for Rob

What is the cheapest membership you could take out and still be able to buy the warranty?

the cheepest membership you could have is roadside assistance only this cost around£42.00 plus plc cover £45.00 and no you dont have to have an inspection u just need to be in posetion of an invoice for the last service at a vat reg garage

Question

Question.....does this only cover repairs following a breakdown....if say you know something i on the way out ie turbo, but the car is still driveable do you have to run it until it actually breaks down?

Sounds to good to be true,OK £500 is not alot of cover but its £500 quid off the bill, should cover a dodgy MAF anyway.
How do they treat mods and imports,do you need full dealer service history?
Do your repairs get carried out by a Subaru dealer?

This looks good, does there need to be a FULL service history though or just for the last service?
