That mad Jap bloke that went up the A1 at 194 and was pulled by the cops. There was a link posted on here a few weeks ago. An old story now I know but can someone post the link to the web page that details his exploits

Thanks alot
Steve

from memory this was some stunt involving max power, and the motor show.

It was a "top secret tuning" supra with a skyline engine.

Don't know if that helps you find it?

Whys that so mad??

Buy a Evo6, tune it to 360bhp like me,(which can be done for less than £2k) then hit the limiter in top gear.... speedo shows 168mph, speed is actually 169.6mph @ 7,700rpom on the limiter... apparently

Try that in ya scoobs

Rich(18" wheels next me thinks )

If the speedo shows 168, then Id guess its doing closer to 150-155mph. All speedos read fast. There are plenty of subarus that can do 160+, so whats the big deal with your Evo?. Now if your car was able to do the 190+ that the Supra did, then it would be mad. As it is, its just a fairly standard Evo.

err... NO ....read my post again. The speedo said 168, the gearing (with new tires, which mine are) means that at the limiter in top the car is actually doing 169.6 mph, or is that too technical for you to understand??

Waiting for the.... "Can't believe you drove over 70 mph!" post..

Or tune a cossie to 525bhp, go over to the Nurburgring, and on the way clock a Stack indicated 182mph

Getaway in Stockholm is fantastic! Second one is available I believe.....

Wink

the 1st getaway in stockholm with the porka was a tad dull in comparison with getaway in stockholm 2 & while the road racing is rude footage i think funniest bit is at end when bloke is gettin stuff outa boot while driver still wheel spinning but then falls off when he trys 2 jump back in, i wet meself
Si
yawn btw if yer speedo say 168 & u reckon by ratios or wotever u were doing 169.6 or wothave u then yer speedo is under reading which however quick yer doin is illegal, over here, or alternatively have u not takin wind resistance into account? Just a fort which in my case r usually incorrect but wtf its all good & i wont get arsy if any1 questions wot i say! lol

What makes your 2 litre 16V injection turbo more capable of a top end that a scoob (with v similar lump) for 2k?

Im sure the potential is there, just you paid about 10k more for yours to start with?

I think you might find a tuned STi7 quite capable of a high top end

No its not too technical to understand, but then you must have one of the few speedos that are actually accurate. That is also assuming your rev limiter is 7700rpm, and that your rev counter too is accurate. There are plenty of Subarus that will do 160+ with a few mods. Evos are nothing spectacular, even when tuned.
I do know someone with an Evo 6, who thought it was fast too. He has spent thousands, manifold, exhaust, boost controller, Ralliart ecu, etc etc, and claiming around 375bhp. Imagine how slow his car felt when an old black legacy smoked him.
FFS, even my own pretty much standard legacy estate will do 160+ so whats the big deal with your Evo that costs maybe 6 times as much as my entire car inclucing mods.
Over 190 is impressive, unti, you can do that, nearly 170, is nothing to boast about.
Perhaps your speedo is still reading in Km/H. Isnt the speed limiter around 170K ????

Max Power "Beasts from the East" video features loads of Jap cars from a 500bhp Civic to the Trial Impreza, but includes a reunion with "Top Secret" the company responsible for the 1000bhp Skyline engined Supra, caught doing 196 on the A1 (about 5 miles from my house, if only i'd known )

Anyway they meet up again with an insistant "Mr Nagator" (Top Secret boss) "yes, our cars will do 200mph" They then proceed to do 210mph through a Tokyo tunnel

Yes it's Max Power, and the commentary is a bit dodgy, but it's well worth a watch, your local Halfords superstore will probably have a copy too.
