Mine did that and it was because the front disks were worn and needed replacing. You're looking at around £110 per disk if they are.

I had a recent problem with a continuous high pitched squeak from the front brakes. Turned out to be the pad wear indicator strip contacting the disk. Fitting new pads solved the problem.

I suggest you check the Pad wear to see if it's the same problem.

Cheers

I have had a problem with squeeky brakes since day one. Discs/pads replaced under warranty, still squeels. Think it's just a characteristic of the car, however worth getting checked out all the same.

Cheers for the advice, think al check the pads first though steve then look at the discs later.. The annoying thing is, av only had the car for 10 days, an it was bought from a dealer !!!!!!!! will be calling them if the discs are cabbaged...

Cheers once again

Exclamation

...liberally coating each disk in wd40 should cure this.......

*disclaimer - DONT DO THIS it will result in your horrible ****ty demise under an artic lorry.....*

[Sensible Mode/] ..have you checked to see if a wee pebble has become caught between disk and pad? Its often the simplest things....

Mine did it since a week after I bought it but I inspected the disks and pads and they were ok. After 6 months and 4000 miles I was told the disks were worn, it would be fantastic if I could have had them done under warranty - but I didn't even bother asking.

Similar problems with the brakes squealing under light pedal pressure. Dealer stripped and cleaned the brakes at the recent service but the brakes were just as bad within a few miles. A squeak is also present as the car is moving and requires an application of the brakes to remidy. Its a good job the CD players loud because these little points can really wear you down
