Is anyone able to help me with a little problem that I am having with my Scooby!?

One of the lower Intercooler pipes 'popped' off not long ago , and has since been refitted. I am now experiencing an uneven acceleration feel when accelerating mildly low down the rev range. There is only a slightly discernable problem when accelerating hard(!) or higher up the rev range (c. 3k plus).

Both my Subaru dealer and Graham Goode Racing have had a look at my car for me, and have been unable to easily sort/source the problem - my Subaru dealer even said that everything was perfect and that it is one of the fastest Scoobies they'd driven!?!

There is no fluctuation in Boost pressure when accelerating (Goode), but the problem is still there!

Does anyone have any thoughts? Any help would be much appreciated, as it may become a little tiresome to drive the car hard everywhere!!

Thanks . . .

When you accelerate, do you feel that you get a jerk for a split second, then it's ok?

Question

Hi Toby,

The problem isn't really a jerk, it seems to g-gg-g-go kind of thing!? Jerky yes, but not one obvious jerk (unlike me!). I've had the Airflow meter pipes cleaned, adnd there is still a problem(?)

Any ideas?

Question

Hi Tony,

The car is a 1996 (97MY), not too old I hope!? It has been modified with a full stainless exhaust (minus 1 CAT), ECU modification, and a K&N induction KIT (alledgedly +50Bhp), and I also have a HKS blow-off valve - all of which was working perfectly until the pipe popped off!?

Someone (Greeny) has suggested it may be the Oxygen Level sensor - I've had the Airflow Meter Pipes cleaned, but no change?

Any ideas would be appreciated . . .

This sounds like my problem so i'm glad i'm not imagining it!And i'm sure mine never used to do it so they don't all do that.
It is only low down the rev range(sub 3k) and worse when cold(g-gg-g-go is a good description!)
My car is a MY99 with just a SS back-box and ITG filter by way of mods. It's been on a rolling-road recently and was producing 234bhp so am not down on power. They wondered if it was something to do with the turbo boost control solenoid so i'm going to clean out the pipes with brake cleaner but am unsure which pipes/how?Anyone know?
Also have ordered new plugs to see if this helps

My car had a similar fault and it was the air flow censor,
