I flash but it's usually always an old git driving a turbo who can hardly see the road let alone a fellow scooby. What is it with people over 70 and Turbos? Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my area.

Correction, last but one statement.

Unhappy

Since ive taken delivery of my P1 i have seen several other scooby owners on the road. I have flashed and waved at each of them but have had no response.

Ive also noticed that there are a lot of OAPs and middle aged women driving turbos who NEVER wave or flash

I don't flash or wave to other Impreza drivers, if I did this in Aberdeen I would constantly be flashing and waving, waving and flashing. You may have guessed there are a lot of Imprezas in Aberdeen.

Anyway, why bother?

I drive an Impreza because I like the car, not to be part of some community/group.

I like Scoobynet and there is much good about the site and the information available. However there are often posts which put across an impression of elitism, and which put down other cars/drivers, I can do without that personally.

Sorry, but I am a non-flasher

Ref Scoobynut message about middle-aged women - I am middle-aged and female and have just taken delivery of P1. Best fun in years and yes I've tried flashing, waving, everything apart from taking off my clothes ( too old for all that stuff) - very few people react but I'll keep trying. LOVE the car !!

I just think it's a nice way of showing respect for each other. Although you do feel like a bit of a prat when the other person doesn't even acknowledge you. Actually you feel a bigger prat when they look at you and then turn away.

Wink

This is going to make me sound like an old git but ...

I remember back in the good old days when I got my Scooby (about 3 years ago ) that people did flash & wave a lot more - and you did feel a bit like a member of a club

Nowadays - Scoobies are a lot more common, and dare I say it downmarket (waiting for the flames ... ) with the sort of image which used to be conjured up by the XR3i (more flames ...) - did XR3i drivers once wave a teach other?

So I suppose it was inevitable that once the exclusiveness had gone - the camaraderie would cease

And another thing - all the traffic police look very young these days ... and the summers always were warmer ...... and beer was only tupence a pint .........

If you dont want to be part of a group why have you made so many posts? And why bother to reply to this one as it is not pure "information" about imprezas, more of a "community/group" thread
