This weeks Autoexpress seems to have fallen onto my scanner....
.... the voices made me do it.
It looks like my September purchase of a new WRX STi could well turn into an October purchase...

Still looks like some badly photshopped efforts there, obviously a very doctored STi.
Wheels, obviously changed to silver from gold, can see in spokes.
Lights, so badly super imposed it's a joke and the bits between the grill and the lights?
Scoop, simply the top stretched back.
Rear lights, look like some of TSL's Lexus style lights

We all know that 'first sights' and 'spy shots' are not necessarily the final product!
Remember when the MY01 was about the come out and the new shape had the Legacy headlights grafted onto it. It looked stunning and I put down a deposit!!! When the real photos came out, I used the deposit on a second hand MY99 instead!!!
I doubt we will really know until the Paris Motorshow.

Hi guys,
IMHO....the bug eye looks way better than this thing. Yes I am biased; however, the bugeye has always looked good to me, better than the old model and better than this thing. The bugeye look is what separates it from other skylines, evos, etc.....original and still the best
Cheers,
Ray

It gets my thumbs up, I would swap my MY00 for one if it looked like this, as uxg says above, with a little bit of work I think it would look sound.
When it says it comes out in October, will this be Japanese models and then there will be a further wait before it hits UK or European showrooms.

Why have Subaru changed the shape so soon??, is the current model that unpopular??, it only seems like 5 minutes ago I saw the current one on Top Gear when it was new out!
Please excuse my ignorance here but Iam new to Scooby's!!

Despite being diplomatic, my opinions are:
The lights are much better looking that the MY01/02 cars!
The rear lights have a 'new' Integra look about them, which I like!
The new scoop is much more aggressive and I think it suits the lines of the car and the the style of the headlights shown.
If the MY01 had looked like this, I would have bought one instead of a second hand MY99!

That looks so much better than the bug eye crap!
Hmmmm, might be tempted to come back from the dark side for this - as mitsubushi seem to be going nowhere with the evo 8!

that thing on top can't be an air intake? The Type-RA V limited had one (I think) but it wasn't a working one, just for show.
The front looks better than the current one. The rear doesn't look that different.
If I HAD to buy new I'd prefer this to what's currently available, but I still like the classic shape bestest of all!!
Yes, the air scoop does look too far back

My 2p FWIW
Wheels have dimples around the rims, therefore STi recoloured.
Roof vent on WRX
No foglights on WRX
Scoop formed as part of the bonnet and not a separate item, :unlikely: Shape looks pretty non-functional as well.
Different wheels on the LHS and RHS, maybe for JDM only
Don't think this advances the speculation much?

I noticed 1 more thing, the rear shot of the car has STi-RA Spec C rims but the bootlid badging is export spec - JDM spec does not have the chrome 'S U B A R U' letters on the bootlid.
The rims on both shots are in silver, whereas currently both rims are only offered in gold colour.
